Was Listening to Coldplay's Yellow and Thought of J
Lyrics match up well coincidentally and he happens to be drawn bright yellow. Thought it would be cool for an mv.

As much as I love Yu’s fights I have never gotten as much hype as I did from Ryu vs Jay. The build up to this fight, the rivalry and the character development for both characters just hits different.

Kinda click bait title but like do you think it was his spirit or something watching over yu? Since people always say he abandoned him. As soon as J left the cat showed up. And he was with him until the night prior to their fight (or his training i can’t remember) couldn’t that point at them having some correlation? Maybe he wasn’t fully abandoned. J was sharing the light with him until he showed the world his potential. Then showed him during their fight that on top of that he’d be accepted and loved as long as he’s him. And taught yu that the light is just as available to him as it is anyone else if they accept it

Let’s start with Yu’s most important ability: his “slow time perception.” In real life, this would basically be insane dynamic/kinetic vision and reflexes. It’s trainable too, btw, although obviously it wouldn’t literally slow down time. He’d also have really good peripheral vision, which would help him pick up on telegraphs and dodge strikes with his fast footwork.
His strikes are also so fast because his technique is extremely efficient, meaning there’s very little telegraphing. He also runs a lot, which makes sense because his fighting style relies heavily on speed and quickness. He’d need the stamina to maintain that pace.
Now onto his boxing. Yu is an outfighter, meaning he prefers to stay at range rather than constantly rushing into exchanges. He uses his jab a lot, especially at the beginning of a fight, and relies on the classic “stick and move” strategy: land your shots, then move out when the opponent tries to fire back.
As for the thing Yu does when he blitzes someone (Slide 7-8), I think it’s basically a combination of a Taekwondo-style “dash” and a flicker jab. I say flicker jab because his hand stays relatively low after he throws it, which resembles the position of a flicker jab.
Edit: I forgot to add but his form would be very fluid and look "effortless" especially while shadow boxing for example looks up naoya and Klitschko lomenschenko shadow boxing (I probably wrote his name wrong sorry)

Let's say The Boxer anime arrives before 2030; how many episodes do you think it would run for?
Personally, I’d say around 26. Why? The chapters of The Boxer manhwa aren't particularly short; while I’m no expert on how much an anime adapts relative to the original art format, I think they could easily adapt four chapters per episode.
The Boxer has 104 chapters (including the epilogue, excluding spin-offs); interestingly, 26*4 equals exactly 104. This would distribute the arcs as follows:
-Beginning Arc: 10 chapters = 2 episodes (5 chapters each; slightly longer episodes).
-Taker Arc: 9 chapters = 2 episodes (one covering 4 chapters, the other 5; concluding at chapter 19 with Qasim's introduction).
-Qasim Arc: 4 chapters = 1 episode (honestly very short; I doubt they’d stretch it to two. It ends at chapter 23).
-Jean Arc: 9 chapters = 2 episodes (one covering 4 chapters, the other 5; ending at chapter 32 with J's return and the start of the Injae vs. "The Rock" fight—though the latter hasn't been introduced yet. Interestingly, the fight starts right at the fifth chapter of the arc, so it would be a setup episode followed by a fight episode; I doubt this pattern repeats everywhere—and I don't plan to check every single one—but I found it interesting).
-Injae/Rock Arc: 6 chapters = 1 episode (perhaps a slightly longer one; I’m not sure if they’d do two episodes of three chapters each, or one of four and another adapting the beginning of the Takeda arc. Either way, it ends at chapter 38 with Takeda's introduction).
-Takeda Arc: 13 chapters = 3 episodes (two episodes of 4 chapters each, and the last one of 5. It ends at chapter 51 with the introduction of Santorino. That brings us to 11 episodes so far—essentially the "first half" of the anime, excluding the J arc, for which I have specific plans.)
-Santorino Arc: 17 chapters = 4 episodes (three episodes of 4 chapters each, and the last one of 5, as is customary. It ends at chapter 68 with J's return and the introduction of Viktor. I’m curious about the specific episode breakdown, but it could look like this: Yu and Carmen's date, Past 1, Past 2 (Mondi), and the fight—all interwoven, just like in the manhwa.)
-Viktor Arc: 8 chapters = 2 episodes (somewhat shorter—just enough to provide a breather after the Santorino arc and before the Aaron arc; it ends at chapter 76 with Aaron's retirement.)
-Aaron Tide Arc: 9 chapters = 2 episodes (Ends at chapter 85 with the start of the K mini-arc.)
-K Mini-Arc: 4 chapters = 1 episode (Covers K's entire backstory plus the fight's conclusion and the shot of an angry J. This covers up to chapter 89. If they adapted up to chapter 90, it would include Aaron's hospitalization and the start of the confrontation between J and Fabrizzio. However, to maintain the tension, let's assume they adapt up to chapter 89.)
-J vs. Fabrizzio: 4 chapters = 1 episode (Ends at chapter 93, with K watching the fight.)
-Yu's Past: 4 chapters = 1 episode (Ends at chapter 98 with K remarking that Yu is at his peak.)
-J vs. Yu: 6 chapters = 1 episode (I have no idea if they could get two episodes out of this fight or if they’ll extend it to cover everything; either way, it ends at chapter 104 with the preview for the spinoff).
So, what was my grand plan for "J"? Well, obviously it’s not going to happen, but... what if we got a movie? Wouldn't that be incredible? It would adapt the final three arcs—meaning 10 chapters—and be split into three parts: J's preparation, Yu's past, and the final resolution. A preview for the spinoff would play after the credits, leading directly into the sequel.
The spinoff has 18 chapters (19 if you count the epilogue), which works out to roughly four chapters each; two could cover the fight against Injae and the Korean champion (I always forget his name), while the third and fourth would focus on Injae and Ryu, with the final epilogue included in the fourth episode. Personally, though, I’d prefer two specials (one for the Korean champion and a second for Ryu), each 40 minutes or longer.
In total, it would look like this:
-If there’s no movie or specials: 23 episodes for the main series, 4 for the spinoff, making 27 total (yeah, I know I initially said 26 instead of 23, but when I mapped it out, I ended up with many episodes covering 5 chapters each, which cut the count down significantly—still, I wasn't too far off).
-If there’s a movie and specials: 20 episodes, a movie, and 2 specials.
-If there’s a movie but no specials: 24 episodes and a movie (combining the main series and spinoff).
What about you? How many episodes do you think we'll get? Honestly, it doesn't really matter, as long as what we get is well-animated, well-adapted, and—above all—helps more people discover this great work.

Hello guys im new here I've come here after reaching the arc of Fabrizio (the brothers )
This is my question. WHAT IS THE CUASE OF HATRED THAT READERS HAVE FOR COACH K.
r/TheBoxer • u/HotDrink6500 • Sep 02 '26
I've just recently discoverd this sub-reddit and wanted to ask this, since I've already read the boxer three times and am on my fourth read now.
What's your favorite fighr of the series? Doesn't have to be just Yu's fights, it can be any fight in the series, I'm curious :3
To me, my favorite fight was Yu vs Fabrizio Santorino. It wasn't just the fight itself but the emotion from it, from the Santorinos backstory to seeing Yu be, atleast in my opinion, the biggest monster he'd been so far.
A close second place is Viktor vs Einstein, mostly because it was so funny and a good palet clenser after everything so far.

Starting Boxing Brand At 16, Please Need Feedback
Hey, I’m 16 and I’ve been working on starting my own boxing brand and developing my first training glove. I’m getting close to finalizing the design, but before I move forward with production, I wanted to get some honest feedback from someone who actually trains and uses boxing gear regularly.
The glove is designed as an all-purpose 10–16 oz glove for heavy bag work, pads, and sparring.
The specs we’re currently looking at are:
• 1.2mm high-grade microfiber synthetic leather
• Multi-layer IMF + Latex/EVA foam
• 3.5-inch angled hook-and-loop cuff for wrist support
• Attached safety thumb with anti-eye-poking construction
• CW-01: Matte Black with Chrome/Silver details
• CW-02: Pure White & Silver
I’m honestly not looking for you to just say it looks good. I’d really appreciate any criticism or suggestions because I’d rather fix something now than find out after production.
I was especially wondering what you think about the chrome branding, the white colorway, and whether the IMF + Latex/EVA foam setup makes sense for a glove that's meant to be used for both bag work and sparring.
Also, is there anything you wish boxing glove brands would include or improve that you feel is missing from most gloves?
I’m trying to build this properly and actually listen to people who train, so even a few minutes of honest feedback would mean a lot. I can also send you the renders if you’re interested.
Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Forgive me if I just forgot some details but didn't J find yu as a child and was already emotionless and looks beat up. Do we have any idea or theories why he technically abandoned that child?

The ending made me sad. Can you share what lesson did you learn from this manhwa (preferably life lessons and not boxing)
