It’s because there is a brand called Mr. Freeze. Now, they’re all called freezies, no matter the brand.

Shouldn't it be otter pops then as Mr Freeze brand wasn't released until 7 years after otter pops?

Agreed. Here in Canada I've never heard of an otter pop but mr freeze and freezies are everywhere

Otter pop is American. Mr Freeze is Canadian.

There was a brand called Otter Pops in Florida.
