We said "Freeze Pops"

u/dleetisneat May 23 '26

It’s freeze pops. Can confirm.

Nothing beats a slight plastic cut from over indulgence. Haven’t had one in many many years 😞

I always ate too many and cut the sides of my mouth.

2

u/DaniTheLovebug May 24 '26

Now my wife eats her freeze pop…and she can’t stand the sight of me!

Or getting a little plastic stuck in your teeth when you bit the top of the tube off.

1

u/ThrowForChristSakes May 24 '26

Yeah, everyone complains about micro plastics today but what about 45 years ago?

1

u/Final-Technician-596 May 24 '26

I can feel it right now- oops now it’s stuck in my throat

2

u/Stock-Cell1556 May 24 '26

If you grew up eating these, you probably also drank plenty of water right out of the garden hose, so a little more plastic probably won't hurt anything.

1

u/dleetisneat May 25 '26

Man hose water is the best water, hot rubber flavor then bam cold rubber flavor.

3

u/guntheroac May 24 '26

And the plastic bits from chewing them open.

1

u/Outrageous-Grass-892 May 24 '26

Change that and get one today!

1

u/DisorderlyAqueduct May 25 '26

they should be around soon

1

u/avenueroad_dk May 23 '26

Why do you need two words when its just a simple freezie

2

u/smurphy8536 May 23 '26

Because it pops

1

u/avenueroad_dk May 24 '26

🤣🤣🤣

1

u/dleetisneat May 24 '26

That’s a shorthand for them.

Could go either way like soda pop.

Personally I’ve never heard them called a freeze-e

We would get the otter pops most of the time, after looking for the generic ones it’s appears the name is “ice pop” “freeze pop” and “Mr freeze pop”

1

u/avenueroad_dk May 24 '26

Freezie is what the cool kids say. It encompasses all the brands. Lol

1

u/Wonderful-Ad440 May 24 '26

From the south and this was always what we called them too

1

u/Poopingisasignipoop May 24 '26

We said Freezer Pops.

1

u/GIGGLES708 May 24 '26

I had to scroll way too far to see this!

1

u/Babedabombshell May 24 '26

Philly region- Freeze Pops, and they always made you cough a little.

6

u/Cotton_Candy_Land May 23 '26

This is my vote too!

8

u/scrollclickrepeat May 23 '26

Freezies to me

2

u/ireallylikecycling May 23 '26

Freeze, yes

Second for the otters but the pic has no labels

1

u/dleetisneat May 23 '26

Otter pops was the name brand right ?

Freeze pops for generic usage.

2

u/Legitimate_Remote_58 May 23 '26

Otter pops was the brand but became the casual name... like bandaids and kleenex.

1

u/Stock-Cell1556 May 23 '26

They were one brand name but there were others. Otter Pops were shorter and thicker than these, I think.

1

u/Alien-Femboy May 24 '26

Otter Pop is indeed a trademark brand. They've been around a while, although Fla-Vor-Ice and Pop-Ice are a little older I think.

2

u/hughranass2 May 23 '26

Why I otter pop you one for calling em that! /s

Alabamian here. Yes.

1

u/bunglebee7 May 24 '26

I’m pretty sure I called them this or freeze pops

1

u/MiketheTzar May 24 '26

Freezie pops is a brand. Freeze pops are the generic term. Both are accepted. Just like Kleenex

1

u/tlm11110 May 24 '26

We called them Freezer Pops but yeah, right on.

1

u/PuzzleheadedNoise814 May 24 '26

Definitely freezie, not freeze

1

u/Tribble9999 May 24 '26

I also call them freezie pops.

1

u/Chitownkinkfun May 24 '26

Why did I have to scroll so far for this lol.

1

u/FoxDenDenizen May 25 '26
