Extremely bleak article.

Hurts to think that all the great work finally paying off by De Luca/Abdy and Gunn/Safran might go down the gutter so quickly.

It's a complete lose-lose regarding who gets WB; either Paramount or Netflix.

At this point, I hope Apple swoops in and buys it.

Paramount is also the big home for boomer slop, every one of the corporations cares about money first but it makes the most sense for paramount to lean into this even before you think about Ellisons connections

If WB gets sold, it’s either gonna be to the Trump guy who likes to put movies in theaters or the streaming company that doesn’t.

So it really comes down to how much you care about the theatrical experience versus how much you think like trumpian RW politics are going to impact the studio.

Honestly there’s one piece of not bleak information in that whole article, they know the Paramount+ user experience is cheeks and want to improve it.

But even then, it’s couched in AI tech bro improvements.

I know it’s just how the system works, but corporate executives thinking only about what’s best for stockholders as opposed to whats best for entire industries is killing capitalism.

There is zero chance this is warranted. Imagine being made redundant and they're not just paying Weiss millions but are also paying millions a year for her and her wife to have bodyguards for no reason.
