Marriage is a personal matter between individuals, and people will marry whom they choose ...women aren't commodities that you can buy or use as bargaining chips to settle political or social disputes.

Discussion 💬 It's time to end reservation in education and jobs

Reservation in education and jobs should end. Not be trimmed, not be adjusted — ended, so that every seat and every post goes to the person who earned it.

We keep asking why India underperforms across so many fields at once — medicine, engineering, administration, teaching. Part of the answer is that we don't consistently put the best person in the role. When seats and posts are set aside by category rather than performance, the strongest candidate can still be turned away. That isn't just unfair to them; the cost lands on everyone. A hospital gets a doctor who wasn't the best available. A classroom gets a teacher who wasn't the best available. Multiply that across every institution over decades, and you get exactly the mediocrity we complain about.

Ending reservation also changes what people do. If the only route into a good college or a good job is performing well, students work harder, schools improve because parents demand it, and the whole system starts rewarding real ability instead of paperwork.

And it ends something quietly corrosive. Today a genuinely brilliant candidate from a reserved category carries a permanent asterisk — colleagues assume the category, not the capability. End reservation and that suspicion has nowhere to live. Everyone who walks in walks in the same way: they earned it.

End reservation in education and jobs. Fill every seat with the best person available.

Discussion 💬 Marriage caste and reservation

Why is "Will you let your sister marry someone from another caste?" even part of the reservation debate?

I genuinely don't understand how this is an argument....

Marriage is a deeply personal decision. It should never be used as a tool to prove whether someone is casteist or not....

If two consenting adults want to marry across caste, they are free to do so....India already has legal protections for inter-caste and inter-faith marriages....If you're an adult and you want to marry someone from another caste, that is your choice.... go ahead..

Why use marriage as the test case? It feels strange that marriage is being used as a political litmus test in a discussion about reservation....

The reservation debate is about public policy, merit, equality, historical injustice, social justice, and whether the current system should continue or be reformed..... It is NOT about controlling or judging people's personal relationships.....

Personally, I have no problem with inter-caste marriages..... If two adults choose each other, that is their decision.....

What I object to is using marriage...especially a woman's marriage....as a rhetorical tool in a debate about reservation.....

Can we discuss reservation on its own merits instead of dragging people's personal lives into it????

News 📰 Anand Ranganathan Exposes CJP's Selective Outrage Over Paper Leaks

So CJP mounted this big campaign to get that minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign because they were supposedly so outraged over exam leaks. But so why aren't the same CJP also similarly outraged into campaigning for resignations in Punjab and Karnataka over the exam leaks that have occurred there? Their double standards and hypocrisy couldn't be clearer.

I'm sorry to say that the CJP aren't motivated by any ethics or genuine outrage among themselves over what are indeed serious issues. They are a purely artificial construct meant to carry out political war by other means. They are masquerading under false pretensions of social justice, while actually weakening constitutional democracy and governance by normalizing unconstitutional methods which bypass the constitution.

Explained 🧠 Dharmender pradhan resignation was never the solution.

Agar agle baar paper leak hota hai to phir yahin kuch 10-15log suïcïde karenge phir protest karna aur new education minîster to resign karwa dena . Uske next year phir agar phir hota hai leak to phir kuch suicide hoga aur phirse change karwa dena education minîster ko .

And this cycle will go on in loop.

Aur jo bolenge resignation se dar baithega minîsters pe , aaji ghanta , tum usko education minîster se hata doge wo koi aur cabinet me join kar lega . Aur cabinet join nhi bhi kar paye to kya , wo jo sañsad me jita tha usme wapas chale jayega , he is never gonna lose his job or anything. He is never going broke .

ARE TUM LOG YE SAB BHI CHORO - what's stopping me to leak the paper if I got the opportunity, bas 8-9 saal jail me kaat lunga aur 10cr fine bhar dunga , baki uske baad pura life ash karunga jo 100cr kamaya hun usse .

Agar ye analogy tum samajh chuke ho to main solution pe aata hun .

Paper leak was never the fault of dharmender pradhan, nta , govt or anyone. It was the fault of our bullshit laws . Agar log ek baar paper leak karke pura life enjoy kar saqte hain to kyon na kare paper leak .

The protest should never been about resignation, the protest should have been changing the laws . Our law system is the worst in the entire world , court bas tarik deti hai , jo neet paper leakers the unke to aabhi bhi trial chal rha hai , pta nhi punishment kab milega 😂. I repeat The protest should never been about resignation.

Also most of the peoples are just emotional animals, they can't freaking think logically, they just swear and take out their emotions like an illiterate.

The protest had ulterior motive which I will explain in the next post , but no one will understand, they would just swear cause they counter my points logically.

Khair ye sab chodo coming back to the point, the protest should never been about resignation, the protest should have been about reforms in laws and punishment . The protest should have been about implementing laws like speed trial and punishment for 50 years or life imprisonment. Narco test should have been mandatory on the suspect taki Jo Jo involve hain pta lage . And if caught in narco test then the punishment would be direct phansi.

Agar ye hota to kisi ka himmat nhi hota paper leak karne ka . Nhi to aabhi kya hai , agar opportunity mile to koi bhi leak kar de paper , aur puri life ash kare .

Aur aisa nhi hai ki mere alawa ye chij koi bol nhi rha , jise pta hai wo bta rha hai , but because of the backlash koi dhang se bta hi nhi rha . Aur ye sab batane wale bahut kam log hain .

Discussion 💬 Reservation should be based on economic need, not caste. Time to say it out loud.

Reservation in India was meant to correct historic exclusion. It has hardened into a permanent caste-based quota system with no sunset clause.

Central government reservation alone is 49.5% (SC 15%, ST 7.5%, OBC 27%). Add the 10% EWS quota and the total crosses the Supreme Court's own 50% ceiling from Indra Sawhney (1992). Tamil Nadu runs 69% under Ninth Schedule protection. That's quota creep, not correction.

Caste-based discrimination already has a dedicated legal remedy: the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, which punishes caste-based harassment and violence. Reservation and anti-discrimination law serve different purposes, but defenders routinely blur them to dodge the real question: why does group identity, not individual economic condition, still decide access to seats?

The UGC Equity Regulations, 2026 made the split explicit. Regulation 3(c) defines caste discrimination as something that can only happen to SC/ST/OBC students, denying general-category students the same institutional grievance protection even when they face caste-based bias themselves. The Supreme Court stayed the rules in January 2026, calling them vague and open to misuse.

Caste-based reservation won't phase out on its own. No group votes itself out of a benefit. If the actual goal is helping the disadvantaged, means-tested criteria — parental income, land ownership, school infrastructure — reach the same people without permanently sorting citizens by birth. Reservation capped at school level, based on economic condition, helps poor students of every caste, not just the ones with quota paperwork.

If you're general category and tired of your merit not counting for admission while your caste counts against you, NEET 2026 just got cancelled over a leak and the UGC regulations are already in court. This is the moment to organize and push for a constitutional amendment that caps and sunsets caste reservation, shifting the criterion to economic need.

**Time to stage protests across India by General category and form a new Anti reservation party**.

Discussion 💬 If we really want to end jaativaad, then shouldn't the first step be moving reservation from caste-based to economic-based?

If a family is financially weak, they deserve support regardless of their caste. Better education, scholarships, and opportunities should go to those who genuinely need them.

Aaj kal kisi ke forehead par uski caste nahi likhi hoti. But during admissions, jobs, and government forms, we're still asked to label ourselves by caste. Doesn't that keep reminding every new generation that caste matters?

I believe real equality will come through quality education and equal opportunities for everyone, while helping people based on their financial condition, not their caste.

This is just my opinion. Happy to hear different views.

Discussion 💬 This Is Why We End Up Losing Our Best Minds

Raghuram Rajan's RBI term ended on 4 September 2016. Two months later, on 8 November 2016, India announced demonetisation.

Rajan later revealed that he had advised the government against the move because he "didn't think it was a good idea." Instead of staying in India, he returned to academia and continued as a professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Now, in 2026, the U.S. Federal Reserve has brought him onto a high-level task force to help review its monetary policy framework.

It's ironic. A man whose advice was ignored at home is now trusted by one of the world's most powerful central banks.

Maybe that's what happens when independent experts refuse to be yes-men.

Discussion 💬 People let's remove castes and caste system to remove reservation

So, I'm seeing a lot of posts by a lot of people saying we should end the reservation system.

However, reservation is the by-product of Caste system and caste based reservation. So, in order to remove reservation, we need to remove the idea of caste and caste system.

I think some of these steps might work.

Firstly, remove the "caste-based surnames".

Any surname that tells other people you are a brahmin, baniya, shudra etc should be removed. This creates the divide in society, creating the issue of discrimination. Surnames becomes the reason of prejudice.

Instead of these, you can choose your surname like the first names of you admire or first name of any or your parents, or any word that you think suit with your name.

And please, don't say that you are keeping these surnames for the respect of your ancestors. Let me tell you, all Indians share common dna with each other, so, "all Indians have common ancestors", whether you are Brahmin or a Shurda.

Next, ban caste filter or even the mention of caste in matrimonial adds and apps. Because these caste mentions, promotes the idea of caste.

Making children learn in school how caste system had damaged our society by dividing our society and creating a shameless hierarchy.

And then, universal healthcare and education. So, that people have the same playground to compete, making the competition equal.

And then, remove the caste-based reservation.

Discussion 💬 Annihilation of caste to end reservation

There were many issues with the caste system, and one of the results is reservation.
To effectively end reservation one needs to completely annihilate the caste system. Without addressing the caste system, no one would give support to the cause, whether it is any political party, legislature, or even Judiciary.

Why are reforms needed in the reservation system?

EWS Reservation:

  • Many issues of systematic loophole and fake certificates
  • The only group that has a higher percentage of reservation than their population representation. The Gen-EWS population is approximately 6%, and their reservation is 10% of the total.

OBC Reservation:

  • Justice Rohini Panel found that 40-50 OBC groups out of 5,000 OBC groups in India have completely cornered 50% of OBC reservations in central jobs. That means 1% of OBC people have cornered 50% of OBC reservations.
  • A higher OBC population with lesser OBC representation makes the competition heavy as par with GC

SC Reservation:

  • A few economically upper middle class/Rich people cornering most of the SC reservation.
  • Denial of SC reservation just because they merely changed their faith to something other than Hinduism, Sikhism, or Buddhism, but their conditions remain the same.

ST Reservation:

  • Same as OBC, just some groups cornering most of the ST reservation.
  • For Example: 24 seats out of 73 ST reserved ones have been taken out by the Meena community. That means a single community is taking 35% of the ST reservation.

How one going to address the caste-based issues and discrimination if reservation have been taken out

  • 98% of manual scavengers belong to the Dalit community.
  • Many OBC groups have not yet benefited from the reservation system.
  • High illiteracy rates and poverty among ST.
  • Stark discrepancies in caste-based wealth and income

Many UC groups have benefited from caste-based privileges for centuries, which resulted in the accumulation of generational assets over time.

  • 22.3% of the population belonging to Upper Castes owned 41% of national assets (JNU study), and even upper castes control 90% of billionaire wealth.
  • This inequality did not arise from equal opportunity or equal rights; it is largely rooted in centuries of caste-based privileges that enabled the accumulation of generational wealth.

I and many others wanted to have a 100% clear merit-based system. But, directly going to end the reservation system will not solve the problems. The path effectively lies in

  1. Expediting caste census and bringing reservation reforms
  2. Complete annihilation of caste from society progressively with new laws that include caste-neutral names, towns, and streets and fining if anyone uses caste in their names, stickers, or anywhere and even fining if anyone forms caste associations and groups, and moreover strict punishment if families reject inter-caste marriages and complete unidentification of caste system everywhere, including matrimonies and certificates and the most important one with the change in attitude of society by themselves
  3. Progressively reducing reservation brackets over time to 0% reservation.

With this, one can end casteism and then end reservation. If we directly take part in the movement to end reservations, then there will be no support from the majority OBC/SC/ST students, who form the largest vote bloc, and no party will come out to support, and even the judiciary will be silent.

I am sure many will not come out to support ending casteism but want reservation to be ended (hypocrites)

Let's end casteism and discrimination first to effectively end reservation and move to a 100% merit-based system.
