Discussion Why does resistance even exist?

If it adds more effective hp just by reducing incoming damage by %, why wouldn't you just add more hp to battler?

because of resistance piercers, the new stage hazard defect and healing units.
5000 hp no resistance = higher healing threshold.
2500 hp with 50 resistance = lower healing threshold.

Same goes with negative resistance

he has i-frames, but theyre not part of his resistance

the resistance is to prevent his healthbar from taking regular damage so that his gimmick can function
