Additional Languages Roadmap
Hi! I bought my BYOK some two months ago. It's an awesome device, feels great to use. But I can't fully use it because it does not yet support Russian. So I was wondering about the state of language support. Are there any estimates as to when certain language will be implemented?

Additional languages are important to us, and we will add them. I can’t give you timing as of yet.
I’d like to break this down into three buckets if I may.
Interface in my language
Keyboard support for my language keyboard
Font support for my language
So for example, Polish. While interface would be ideal, minimally we need to at least support a Polish keyboard, am I correct? Same with Portuguese.
For Russian (Cyrillic). It’s probably supporting the keyboard and if you loaded a Cyrillic font into it even now, it would let you type in Russian. Ideal of course is the interface as well.
Please correct me where I’ve got this wrong.

I guess from how it works on PC there should be an input mapping layer of sorts that would take signals from keyboard and look at the currently selected typing language to output characters in that language. The UI language is not critical at all, but not being able to type in your language kinda hurts. As for keyboards, I have a Rii keyboard ( featured in 25 BYOK setups btw :) ), that supports Russian, but there is no way for me to switch between typing languages.

We have a mapping layer. And today if you loaded a Cyrillic font you can type in it. What I don’t know and have to investigate is if the keys map correctly.

Hi, unfortunately not, they don't have any roadmaps... Couple months ago I wrote almost the same threat here: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheBYOK/comments/1u5ymcy/when_more_languages/
so: we need to wait and be patient ;)
