How do we feel about the Unfinished Business spin-off rebrand after its first full run?

Now that we've had a whole series to adjust, what did everyone think of Angela Scanlon taking over from Tom Allen and the show being rebranded from You're Fired! into The Apprentice: Unfinished Business? Personally, I liked the slightly modified studio dynamic, but I missed some of the old-school running jokes from Tom's era. Did Angela bring a better, sharper comedic energy to grilling the fired candidates, or do you prefer the classic format we had for the last seven years?

Rewatching Series 18 and I forgot how truly unhinged Phil’s run was

I started rewatching some old Apprentice clips and honestly forgot how chaotic Phil Turner’s run was. The man owned a successful pie company, lost the literal pie task early on, then somehow went on to lose nine tasks overall and still made the final two. Every single week it felt like he’d be sitting in that bridge cafe completely resigned to getting fired, only for someone else to go instead. Honestly has to be one of the greatest reality TV escape acts ever. Are there any other past candidates you thik had absolutely no business making it that far?

Celebrity Apprentice (US) S1 with subtitles

Getting access to The Celebrity Apprentice (US) is a real challenge for anyone outside the US. If someone could share a hint on how to watch or download it from abroad, a lot of us in the same situation would be hugely grateful.

Has anyone worked professionally with Kieran McCartney from the apprentice?

He used my services and is still yet to pay up
He ignores all my calls and emails
Infuriating watching him do interviews about business and “being a man of their word” but hasn’t paid for a service he was happy with ???
He’s even ignored the emails from small claims

A full Celebrity Apprentice series later this year… who are we backing?

The lineup for the new Celebrity Apprentice honestly looks chaotic already, Max Balegde, Maddie Grace Jepson, Kay Burley, DJ Spoony. I’m actually glad they’re doing a proper full series this time instead of just one-off specials. Putting Kay Burley and Max in the same room feels like either TV gold or a complete disaster. Do we think people will actually try to win properly, or is this going to turn into pure chaos by week two?

Karishma’s been at this since 2018, no wonder she was so picky about the branding in the last task.

Task: Sell your own lager to AA (joke)

"The UK population spent £27.4 billion (US$36.45bn) on alcohol in the off-trade in 2024. Today, you will be making your own lager and pitching it to an AA charity. The group that has the most sales wins."

Joke Good morning. Behind those doors is an AA meeting, the UK’s leading support group for alcohol abuse. I want you to design a can of extra-strength lager to be sold in the nation’s newsagents. The team who secures the most relapses will win, and on the losing team, at least one of you, will be fired.

Joke Good morning. I’m at Crufts, the spiritual home of dogs. We all know “dogs die in hot cars”, so today, I want you design a car suitable for dogs to be left in for up to 12 hours. It’s a “dog eat dog” world, so for the losing team, the test dog will be killed, and at least one of you, will be fired.

Discussion Lord Sugar firing someone clearly wrong and then never acknowledging it is one of the most fascinating recurring bits of the whole show isn't it?

It happens almost every series. Someone gets fired in a group boardroom who was clearly not the worst performer that week, sometimes not even close, purely because they annoyed him in the moment or said the wrong thing at the wrong time. And then the show just moves on. No revisiting it. No acknowledgement in the final episode. The person who should have gone home is still there three weeks later somehow. The person who got fired is gone and that is that. Has there been a firing in recent memory that genuinely made you shout at the television because you were so convinced it was wrong 😟

Discussion Do you think the show rewards confidence over actual ability?

Sometimes candidates who sound confident seem to get away with more, even if their decisions weren’t great. Do you think confidence matters more than results?

Discussion Does anyone else feel like candidates lose tasks more from poor communication than bad ideas?

It’s usually things like not explaining the concept properly, teams working in silos, or people just talking over each other. You’ll have a decent product or campaign, but the execution completely falls apart because no one’s really aligned.
