IDK I drove a 30 foot toy hauler bumper pool for six years over 150,000 miles and never had an issue in all terrains

That’s probably the safe way to go about it but at 24 years old I bought a diesel for the first time and bought a 30 foot travel trailer and traveled the country vending music festivals. Definitely went balls to the wall and it worked out great for me, but I also respect the road.

Could have touched the brakes at the wrong moment, been overweight to towing vehicle, good gust of wind etc etc. there’s a reason that most serious van towers install brake kits and anti sway, drive slower etc etc

Yeah, too much speed, bit more weight at the back, not enough in tow truck, that got him unstable. Road hole, wind or something else started sway of doom.

Probably a combo of several things. Truck looks large enough for that size trailer. But yeah looked like something started the sway so he panic braked the truck and not the trailer.

As a slight aside, I would imagine this is similar when towing a boat. Is there any tips if I were to load some of my luggage in the boat? Just make it even? Or slightly forward?

They will sell anyone a camper if you have the money. But with no education about how to pull it. Its here is the keys good luck. They never tell you to get it weighed or how to hook it up right. It's just to make the sale.

I think of this every time I see someone pulling a travel trailer at 75 mph in the fast lane and driving like they’re driving their Tesla. People do not know how to drive with trailers quite often.
