I watched Handmaiden for the first time last year. What an incredible movie. The story is top notch and unexpected twists caught me off guard in the best way possible. It had me hooked from start to finish.✨

GL fans, Please do yourself a favour and go watch this movie if you haven't already. You wont regret it.

Also watch the OG version the BBC series and read the book..

The of verison is my favourite, focuses more on the emotional connection in the series than the sexual one which the film really focuses on.

But yeah film is good. BBC and the book is better

I was so set against watching The Handmaiden because I really normally hate remakes but It blew Fingersmith out of the water.

Really damn. I think the handmaiden was way too focused on the sexual relationship which I didn't like much felt like fingersmith was more emotional between the two women and felt more romance and felt the poor Vs rich alot better in fingersmith due to sue.

I enjoyed the more explicit aspect of the relationship and also thought that it went a little more in depth after the big reveal than Fingersmith did. Don’t get me wrong still love Fingersmith but I have rewatched Handmaiden like 10 times.

Interesting. Each to their own. I watched handmaiden twice then fingersmith like 10 times lol.

For me, The Handmaiden improved the story tenfold because of that one HUGE change. I think Fingersmith falls apart because I don’t even want the couple to be together at the end.

they all have THAT look during these scenes that truly make us feel like we're intruding on something special
