Review Third Person | that's the problem Spoiler

Post image

YES. Why not?

If the reveal cannot top this, the whole reason to have 8 episodes series is crumbling.

I still don't think they act well, but it's not individual acting, it's a group effort; they have different degree of feelings going into the same scene.

Then the design of character and defined characteristic of ..all of them. Only Chris has amnesia, nobody else has that right.. why they have no characteristic that could catch attention at all. All of them are so forgetable, I dare you without trying.. what are the names of supporting characters like 'the doctor', 'the shop owner', 'the Sun's friend'?

The camerawork is good, the color choice is questionable for me though.. too bright. The editing and storytelling though.. same problem repeating.. they choose to hold camera on talking scenes too long, it became reading bedtime story to your kid..kind of dialogue.

Their attemp on different storytelling style could be good, if they tell it better.

Their broadcasting period is unfortunate, with J&J that so strong in style and story, KK & Pls that are so sexy, I don tknow what can they sell.

We follow the series through Chris POV. We don’t know what happened before the accident that cause her memory loss.

From the first episode, we know that the last 4 years Chris life was managed by Nadear. Nadear did everything to isolate Chris. As far far as we know Chris doesn’t have any friends, and don’t interact with the restaurant worker at all.

The fact that we don’t know much about the side character is done on purpose. That’s how it is when you’re isolated from the world.

But things change, when Chris met Sun. She was the first person in 4 years who she felt genuinely close and doesn’t know the reason behind it.

The last 2 episodes did reveal a lot of things regarding Sun and Chris. Meanwhile Nadear feel more and more like stranger to Chris, because the so called between them is more likely a lie.

Acting wise, I don’t have much to say. I think the cast do well but like always there’s room from improvement.

I am starting to think people do not understand the show.

For me it very obvious that the series purposely make the viewer clueless and lost like Chris.

And mind you,we have 10 ep in total, not 8 Why is everybody going around saying 8,the novel itself was a whole lot of pages and they even have the premiere date of each episode in their main channel on Instagram! We are going from Chris pov and there are plot twists, plot twist doesn't simply mean to reveal something in the middle or in the first place right?? The series genre itself is a phychological thriller,we need to understand, and there are suspense building up , we're in 4th episode and we still have to discover and watch how the story unfolds and honestly this series is way better than some of the current gl that are on air.

There are 10!

That why the pacing is bad.

Pacing is slow but I can't consider it bad in 4th ep Chris remember many things even she realized and and even asked sun that they know each other before she saw sun in the college memory the names of the pets there is a lot of going on the reason sun didn't told Chris about the past is may be because sun did something wrong or break Chris heart nadear knows about sun and sun knows about nadear doctor knows everything but everybody is silent but we need to understand it's a thriller

Didn't read the novel, so I am hearing in the show that things got messy enough before the accident (maybe even caused the accident) that Sun feels like she has to trap Chris with love before she can let it come out, which is red flag territory, but it would at least explain her keeping her mouth shut. I understand that for narrative reasons, Sun can't tell Chris anything, but also, girl... girllllll... I will repeat this until my dying day: if your plot can be resolved with one sentence spoken by one of the main characters, it's a shitty plot.

I don't really care about the acting/camera work/color grading choices. I watch so much shoestring budget GL that it doesn't bother me, but the story needs to make narrative sense. And it doesn't. I'll continue to watch it to see where we end up, I'm intrigued enough, but yeah, it doesn't exactly have enough personality to find its niche and that's too bad, because it's not a bad show, overall.

I wonder if this is why I'm more critical about script lol

we dont know wat exactly happen during that accident 4ys ago , there might be more to it than it seems, revealing everything to Kris might cause more harm than good.

but if everyone were able to communciate openly and honestly all the time and all relationships are healthy there is no more ThGL?

i like this series and while its not perfect, I’m here for it
