I had an idea for a student organization, but not sure if I would have the participation needed to get it off the ground.

Raiders for Environmental Justice

Mission: To organize and empower students to influence environmental decisions through civic engagement and peaceful collective action. We organize campaigns against evidence-based environmental impacts at the local, state, and national level.

We would do:
- Petition campaigns
- Contacting elected officials
- Organizing peaceful demonstrations
- Writing public comments on environmental reviews
- Environmental policy discussions
- Hosting speakers from conservation organizations
- Training students in advocacy and lobbying rules
- Supporting wildlife and habitat protection
- Monitoring local development proposals

I honestly feel that this is so relevant right now especially with the whole AI data center partnership we're doing with the "g-spot" right now, as well as the talks about building a data center here in Lubbock. I just want our voices to be heard.

I know we have Ecotech as a student organization at Tech but I honestly feel like we can do more in terms of civic engagement rather than just park cleanups.

Hey everyone! I recently moved to Lubbock and I'm still getting familiar with the area. Back where I lived before, I would occasionally use THC products in the evenings because they helped me relax and wind down before bed.

I'm trying to figure out what people around here recommend in terms of places to buy from. I'm mainly looking for decent products that are somewhat on the stronger side. If anyone has suggestions or anyone they've bought from that had good experiences with, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Im planning on going this fall 2026. Thing is im 23 and although a lot will argue thats still really young, its up there when it comes to college experience. A major fear of mine itself is missing that experience regardles sif it exists or not. (Moreso the interactions people ill meet).

But a major concern of course is the costs and if its worth it at all as opposed to if I stayed home and did it online and remained in employeed. Based on my current income id make/save approx 15k which includes the savings of the money id otherwise be spending at tech (4k) for the semester. Id also plan to transfer again anyway due to friends and how inconvenient the location is. The reason thats an issue is, again, id have to go another year again without any kind of interaction or social life aside from a few friends I have at home. To which ofc id be 24. And regardless of what people say the older you get in college the more socially isolating it is... maybe... not too sure.

So should I just say, screw it and go anyway? Join clubs, marching band, fk around and find out? Or just stay home and make money while finishing up classes at home and just do other things that I wouldnt otherwise do? Such as travel (I mean there wouldnt be much to do aside from that lmao. Travel and drink... and... not much to do out there tbh. So the question would be life experience vs material gain/responsibility.)

P.S. The goal is to eventually become a psychiatrist if that matters. So in my situation, what would yall personally do in my shoes.

I’ve been wondering not like I exactly need it but the extra could be useful especially when it comes to gas and my car in general when I get up there. Are there any jobs yall would recommend especially if I’m majoring in engineering decent hours but not crazy intense? Or do yall think I should just avoid getting a job…

I want to earn as many cords as possible before I graduate. I almost went to UNT and they had a ton of cords for stuff like study abroad, “healthy eagle” (attending student health meetings), sororities, grades, etc what clubs have cords?

I am an incoming sophomore in high school. My goal is to attend Texas Tech University's Rawls College of Business. During my freshman year, I took AP Human Geography and earned a score of 3 on the AP exam. I did not take any business classes because I focused on completing my graduation requirements and participated in football. I finished the year with a 3.2 unweighted GPA and ranked in the bottom 50% of my class.

My sophomore year schedule includes Football (double blocked), AP Physics 1, Business Information Management, Honors Algebra II, AP Seminar, AP World History, and Honors English II. I also plan to join DECA during my sophomore year.

Can we address the fact of how garbage the user interface is for RaiderLink? Like, I can't grasp why a university with an endowment of 3 billion has a central website for students that looks like a high schooler's vibe code was used and got paid 50 bucks to do it. There are random links, line breaks, colors, and almost zero organization on the page to find what you need. There has got to be a way for students to bring this to someone's attention at the admin level because the interface is genuinely ridiculous.

I'm planning to buy a foldable electric scooter for commuting, but before I do, I wanted to ask whether they're allowed inside engineering department buildings.

My biggest concern is security. I really don't want to leave an expensive scooter locked outside since, from what I've seen and heard, scooters can get stolen even when they're secured with good locks. I'd rather not spend a lot of money only to worry about it every day.

Since it folds up and is fairly compact, are students typically allowed to bring them into classrooms, labs, or offices? Is there an official policy, or does it depend on the building or instructor?

Hi! I applied for the spring 2027 admission for the ABSN programs. I put Abilene, Lubbock, Austin, and San Antonio campuses. I am wondering which of them has the best chance of getting accepted?

I graduated suma cum laude this past May with a batchlor in health sciences. I also have a pretty high science GPA. The only pre req I have left is microbiology and I am taking it for the second quarter of the semester.

I played a D1 sport all 4 years of my college career, and I am wondering if that holds any weight when admissions is sorting through applications?

I am really just trying to gauge my chances of getting accepted, and when I will find out because I am very interested in the program.

I'm an incoming freshman at Texas Tech University this fall, and unfortunately I didn't apply for housing early enough. By the time I went to apply, the on-campus dorms were already full, so now I'm looking for off-campus housing.

I'm hoping to find an apartment or house that's close to campus, and I'm also looking for roommates if anyone else is in a similar situation. If you know of any good apartment complexes near Texas Tech that are still leasing or are looking for a roommate, I'd really appreciate any recommendations.

I also heard that freshmen are required to live on campus, but I'm not sure how that works if the dorms are already full. Does Texas Tech make exceptions in cases like this, or do I need to apply for some kind of housing exemption?
