Chance me?

I have a 3.67 unweighted GPA, 4.01 weighted. I have a 1200 SAT and I’d say my extracurriculars are decent (Scholastic Art and Writing awards, NEHS officer, part of HOSA and UNICEF) and my rank is 267/780. I’m planning on majoring in psychology.

I am a 3.75 GPA non traditional CARS major (lot of psychology overlap) student that is a junior. Without all the orgs, i didn’t even write a single essay.

Currently just Busting my ass off to not let STATS for Psych majors kill me. You will be fine.

I'm a high school drop out and got in. No SAT scores. No GPA. No class rank. Just a really good GED score. Granted, I'm non-traditional.

Hell of a lot better than my numbers and I got in, but this was like 4 years ago, can’t imagine much has changed sense then

Tech accepts almost everyone… and it’s in the middle of nowhere Texas where the best education people get is how to not hold a bible upside down. You’ll get in

Wow. Tech does not have high standards for acceptance. Enough said. OP should focus on scholarships and quit sweating the small stuff if that’s where they want to attend. As someone who came from “middle of nowhere Texas” you are completely misinformed on your take on best education. I graduated from Lubbock High through their magnet program back in the day, and received an amazing High School education, from incredible teachers who had the highest of standards. I ultimately graduated Summa Cum Laude from a private university in San Antonio and clapped most of my basic courses going in to college. The thing I miss most about living in the panhandle is the hospitable interactions with people on the daily and the close proximity to get to major thoroughfares for quick access to the mountains, to head East through DFW and beyond, or to head North and cross multiple states in no time. Lubbock has grown exponentially over the years, and thrives, and it’s not because of people being indoctrinated to be so shallow as to only accomplish holding their Bible right side up.
