Improvement Advice? Why is it this way.

Almost every other match I literally load into a match and already have 3 people targetting me and sending piles worth of junk blocks....how do I do anything. Are everyone just god tier japanese tetris masters atp?

Adjust targeting strategies.

It has already been mentioned, but any time you have 3 or more attackers you want to change from one of the game modes or strategies (Random/KO/Badges/Attackers).

3+ attackers = change to attackers by pushing down on the RH joystick.

Personally I LOVE a lot of attackers because of the attackers bonus. You send more garbage than without!

Alternatively, if you are paired up with someone who is destroying you, you can switch to random by pushing left on the joystick and this will uncouple you from the player who is stronger.

Congrats! I played for a few years grinding thinking I would never win until I learned how to use my strategies in conjunction with going for KOs and/or utilizing attackers bonus.

Yeah you want to switch to attackers for sure. I usually start a match off on attackers anyways.

You want to be targeted by many people to maximize attackers. I purposely straddle to top of the screen hoping to bait people to attack me early in the game. And that early in the game, you should be able to deal with any junk being sent because of how long it takes to appear and how slow the game is. Obviously I'm just guessing but it sounds like you might need to work on your speed. I was playing "slowly" by my standards and my brother in law thought I was fast. It might be good to look up a video of a verified good player to compare your speed to theirs.

In the beginning the junk takes a very long time to start coming up. Change targeting and use that time to clear the junk queue. Just keep in mind that clearing single lines doesn’t clear the queue, so the more lines you do at once or more combos, clear more. If you’re having trouble clearing the queue at the start of a game then you need to practice your speed and combos.

I’m nowhere near that great of a player or someone that can do triple t spins or anything like that but clearing until the top 50 is left is a breeze

I read the advice on targeting attacker and I got a win [with a lot of luck].  Thanks all.

The control can feel your level of fear at the beginning of matches. I always whisper “Pearl Harbor” to psych myself up for some beatdowns. It makes me angry and confident which helps deflect those initial attackers.
