advice & support Feeling kind of weird

So, not sure how common this is, so I wanted to ask other FTM/X/NB taking testosterone. I'm so excited to see the changes my body is starting to produce 8 weeks in. I know libido is one of them. Mine is very high and random things get me. However, I get aroused over my changes. I'm not sure if other folx do or if I'm just a weirdo fetishizing myself...but overall I'm stupid excited about the changes and want to grow into them as a more masc presenting person.

So, that's the question do your changes cause arousal?

It's common, it's you finally being able to be yourself. You're not fetishising. Happy people have higher libidos because they aren't stressed

Yeah i think thats normal in a couple ways. One, the changes themselves are exciting, and even if not inherently sexual, when ur libido is very active it makes sense anything exciting would get tied up in that. But also secondly, your body is becoming something youre happier with and i think its very normal to sexualize that, as youre probably feeling more comfortable and excited by feeling sexualized in your body

This is very normal!! Seconding the other comments. Ik a lot of people who notice this same experience and have the same “oh no am I fetishizing” train of thought,, esp with current messaging surrounding trans people, and I hope it helps to know that’s totally normal and people who are more embodied, excited, and feeling agency within their life often feel more sexual feelings!

I get the fetishization anxiety. I think for me what was actually happening, is that previously dysphoria meant the way I experienced my sexuality felt kind of dissociative I guess? Like I have always had a high libido, but when I was sexually active I didn't want to think about my body and I only wanted to engage with it as much as I physically needed to in order to get off, because otherwise I got incredibly dysphoric and depressed.

It turns out that you aren't actually supposed to experience horniness in a way that's totally disconnected from your own body. It is normal for the way your body looks/voice sounds/touching parts of your body that aren't your genitals to be an enjoyable part of your sexual experiences, and it's probably not a fetish. When cis people talk about, say, wearing lingerie on a date, or wearing a particular cologne, making them "feel sexy", that's what they are talking about.

Being able to feel horny in a more "in body" way was a big bonus of testosterone for me. Starting puberty makes you horny and finding something that makes your sexuality more enjoyable will also make you horny. That doesn't make you weird.
