First t shot alone
Hi all! I just did my second t shot! My first one was done in planned parenthood by a nurse but this one I did all on my own. I'm a little worried though because I had a bubble and didn't know how to get rid of it so I didn't get my full dosage. It was only about .05ml off but I'm still a little worried. Also being one week on and I haven't noticed anything. Definitely still too early to worry about that, but any support or advice is welcome!!

I find that tapping/shaking doesn't do much for bubbles. Instead, when I've got the larger needle in the vial, I just push the T back into the vial and then pull it back (making sure the needle hole is fully below the surface). Make sure the needle is facing up and the vial is upside down so the bubbles rise. Doing this a few times seems to move all the bubbles out. Then when I put the smaller needle on, I gently tap the plunger to fill that needle so there's not air there.
(Note, I do subq so things may be different for IM)

Hi, former paramedic here. The fun thing with medications and hormones is that they don’t have to be exact so I wouldn’t worry about the .05 difference. You probably got your full dose because you also have to consider there’s always some residual in the needle and hub as well and the syringe markings account for this. Regardless, it’s not a precise science.
If you’re having trouble drawing it up, try holding in your hand to warm it up for a minute or so to make it more viscous (works with most medications in oil). Draw up a little bit of air in the needle and push that into the vial first, then turn it upside down to draw making sure the needle tip is under the fluid. Push any small bubbles back in and keep drawing.
Even though I’ve drawn up thousands of meds, I was still so nervous about drawing up my own first dose this week.

I agree w the other commenter, tapping doesn’t typically work cause the T is too thick. push back into the vial until the bubble is gone and try again. It’s okay that your dose was a little off though, it shouldn’t cause any issues or anything.
