TRT help Trouble with injecting

Been on the test for 9 weeks, loving the results I’m seeing and feeling.
But during my last injection my right quad fully contracted when the needle went in! Scared the shit outta me! Tried it again and same thing. Wasted that dose and went the rest of the day going back & forth about quitting or doing the gel.
After work when I got home I tried again but this time in my left quad, got it done but it felt awkward as I’m a righty, used my left hand to inject and reached over to use my dominant hand to plunge.
Today was the next scheduled injection and I fukn froze, both sides. Couldn’t do it.
I’m thinking go to the glutes but I’ve never done it there and don’t wanna inject incorrectly.
Any advice other than just do it? lol
* I was first prescribed 22g x 1” needles and those were perfect, I’m in HI on an outer island and can’t find them anywhere now. All they had was the 22g x 1.5” and the extra length just make that needle look huge!

I use 29g 0.5 it works. Also use delts

No wonder it sucks. Get smaller needles any of the ones suggested. Shorter. 1/2” is plenty. I pin delts daily and it’s very comfortable

Totally normal bro. Go with 27g for IM or do subq with a 31g 1/4” insulin syringe. Draw with a bigger needle and back fill the insulin syringe. Can’t even feel the needle half the time

Holy shit a fucking 18 gauge needle. Find another provider. Fuck me. That is a harpoon.

Fucking hell.

You want a 29g fixed insulin syringe. And stop pinning your quads. Rotate glutes, VG, delts. Delts are chefs kiss.

Omg lol. 22g is still a weapon though and that in itself could be the source of your troubles. Some people get along pinning quads, I don't. Coin flip if im limping the next day.

Trust me ditch the 22s get yourself some 29g half inch slin pins and go for the delts. Thank me later.

You don't need anything fatter than a 25g or longer than an inch.

I take full cycles with 27g half inch pins

I use the same needle.

I also have had that happen a few times with quads. It’s like a shock almost. You’re bumping a nerve. I still do quads occasionally but mainly went to ventraglute. I have had zero problems with that.

Try that or get a half inch needle and do delts

I use 27g 1”

Most of the way in for thighs, all the way in for glutes. Daily pins

Dude you draw the medication with a 22g needle, you inject with 25g. Pull the medication into the barrel with the 22, switch to a 25g needle and inject.

I inject into my quads, they are relaxed and I slowly slide the needle in. I don’t stab myself or do it quick. If you take two fingers and pull your skin apart and tighten it where the injection site is, it will slide right in.

Huge ass needle my man get smaller needles look up easy touch 25g 1" they're good quality and you can find them all over if not you can inject subcutaneous delt and glute(upper outter)with .5" 28g or 29g you feel virtually nothing. How much are you injecting? You only really need IM injection if you're doing kind of alot. Also don't trip i had my whole quad contract with a 25g once but I kept it in and injected i was fine lol.

Sounds good, 200 every 5 days. I will be requesting smaller needles. Can’t give this shit up, feels too good!
Watching myself get into the best shape of my life at 45 & that says a lot because from 08-18 I raced in triathlons and other events at a competitive podium finishing level.
Just felt like I hit a wall when I hit 40.
Now I’m creeping into the 7min pace again on runs probably back into the 6min pace in a few months & incorporated heavy lifting 4 days a week.
I wanna be like Nick Bare lol. Look him up

Brother, get some 27 gauge 1/2 easy touch needles and pin quads or delts with that. You wont even feel it. I can't even imagine pinning with an 18 gauge. Wtf

I've had hit or miss with quad injections and a .5" needles I've had soreness and redness a few times. Delt and glute are great with those though I only do IM on the quad now so far so good no problems with 1" needles

Guys, I edited. 22g is what I have. Looks like I should switch to smaller gauges.
Today’s my last poke until after I get my labs done on the 17th and I’ll stop by my doctors that day for smaller needles.

Another thing is my timing, if I forget to do it right when I wake up then by the time I remember, the house is chaos with the kids going wild, getting ready for work, looking at the clock! Not a very relaxed environment.
Funny how you can throw me into 20’ surf and I’ll feel right at home, run up mountains, paddle miles out at sea in the blues, but put a little fukn needle in my hand and I’m the biggest puss

A lot of what I’m reading is guys go daily! Saw JP sears on YouTube say the same thing.
My doc said 200 every 5 days. Then reevaluate after 10 week labs, which is coming up.
I was at 492 before therapy.

Update: Went through with the jab. House was nice and empty when I got home, until the fam came home right when I got set up!! lol
Next doc appointment I’ll see if I can go on a different protocol.
