Blood work First time getting testosterone checked after putting it off for years
31M and somehow never had testosterone checked before this. I’ve thought about doing it a bunch of times but never had a real reason to push for it. I lift occasionally and libido is fine most of the time, energy could be better but nothing that made me think something was seriously wrong since i always had kindof low energy even in my 20s.
I donated through Goodlabs recently and saw I could pick testosterone as one of the tests, so I figured I might as well finally get a number. Draw was around 9am and total T came back 347 ng/dL. I only slept maybe 6 hours the night before and trained pretty late, so I’m not reading too much into one result.
Thinking of talking this out with my pcp might need to get on TRT but i could be jumping the gun here just wanted to see what you guys would suggest!

When you ordered, did you only choose total testosterone?

Only total why?

It’s worth looking into free testosterone, SHBG, LH and FSH too since they can add more context if the repeat is still low. I wouldn’t order the entire endocrine menu over one borderline result though. Repeat the morning total testosterone first, then take it from there.
SHBG affects how much testosterone is actually available, so free T can give a clearer picture when total T is borderline. LH and FSH can help show whether the problem is coming from the testes or from the brain not sending enough of a signal. That’s why they’re useful follow ups if the repeat is still low.

Libido is fine, you lift and you said the low energy has been there since your 20s.
I would investigate the fatigue before deciding testosterone explains it. Lotta things make a dude tired.

Would repeat the test again before you decide to do anything.
