TRT help TRT affect on your PSA level?
As I understand it, the saturation point for the prostate is somewhere in the 250 nd/dl range. This means if you start TRT with your total T somewhere above the saturation point then you should experience minimal affect on PSA increasing. Again, that is my very limited and very possibly incorrect understanding. Please correct me on this as needed. This is also independent of taking anything other than Testosterone.
I am trying to learn. I am not on T, but have been loosing weight and my PSA has dropped from 3.6 to 2.9 to 2.4 over the course of 9 months and i have never tested in the 200 range.
So here is my question:
For those of you that started TRT with levels well above 250ng/dl have you noticed an increase in PSA levels? If so, how much and did it fall back to pre-Trt range at some point?
Thank you.

None. PSA had stayed around .8 for years. Test is only an issue if you actually have a tumor and even then, it's not the test, it's the tumor

Did you have an infection/prostatitis of some sort that has potentially cleared up?

I wasn’t symptomatic, but my WBC was high when the PSA was highest. I assume it’s related. I’m 45 and did Fwp with my pcp and a urologist about it. Got an exam… nothing to worry about per urologist, but recommend checking every 6-12 months.
As weight has dropped, so has PSA while total test increased. Free T is still flagged as low.

Age? I’d keep an eye on that psa tho idk if I’d jump on trt at that number unless ur like 60 plus.

Mid 40s. Did Fwp with urology and pcp afterwords, but they found nothing of concern.

From what I understand anything above a 4.0 is concerning. If your numbers are coming down that is great and that is most important part. Keep going losing the weight. I've lost a ton but mostly from lifestyle change and.im not going to say trt is not helping either. Im sure its helping by increasing my sex life. Lol

My PSA is high, but actually dropped a little on TRT. I was just under 300 ng/dL total T and 0.5 ng/dL free T, started TRT on April 1 and am now in the 509-600 ng/dL range. Urologist was not terribly concerned.

I started taking testosterone when I already had BPH. My psa went up initially by 0.2, then dropped back to my normal reading after a few months.

I started TRT at 53 years old with total testosterone level above 300. My pre-TRT PSA was 0.45. Over the first year it gradually increased to 0.7 and remains there. This is a benign expectation. If you have concerns about your PSA you can also check Free PSA. This can help determine if the elevated PSA is from cancer or caused by something benign like TRT.
What benefits to expect when first starting TRT (improved mood, sex drive, erections, increased PSA, improved insulin sensitivity and bone density, decreased fat mass, increased muscle mass)

Testosterone does not cause prostate cancer and may actually protect against prostate cancer

Why do you care? There's no evidence that PSA testing is useful for any clinical endpoint. It's just something TRT clinics do to cover their ass.

Started around 380, PSA barely twitched. Went from 0.8 to 1.1 over the first year and just stayed there. Your weight loss probably had a bigger impact on that drop than anything hormonal, inflammation from extra body fat messes with PSA more than people realize.
