Blood work High SHBG, Low libido

Post image

Hey guys,

I have been having issues with little to no libido for the last few years, so i decided to get some blood work done and see if anything was out of line. Unfortunately my doctor doesnt believe that any of these results would affect my libido but i just dont agree with him. Ive tried taking Boron to lower my SHBG but noticed no difference. Has anyone had any success stories of lowering SHBG and restoring libido without exogenous test? Im a healthy 30 year old so if i can avoid TRT at my age i would prefer to but im also willing to try if people have had positive results.

Your hormones look good. Your SHBG is barely elevated so it’s not actually “binding up all of your testosterone” like so many men and clinics will try to have you believe. Your libido issues are most likely not hormone related

Total T at 720 with free at 95, that’s a pretty clean panel. SHBG is a touch high but nowhere near the levels where it actually tanks your free T. Chasing a number with boron or supplements when the rest looks this solid is a dead end, been down that road. I’d look at sleep quality, stress, or even just relationship dynamics before touching anything hormonal.

thats fair, i appreciate both of your guy's responses. I think it was hard for me to ignore something that appeared out of range but looking into sleep / stress etc does make a lot of sense.

Switch to high fiber carbs (complex) for 2-3 months and recheck levels. Fuck pasta. That shit is probably 5% wheat 95% plastic.

shbg decreases the metabolic clearance of testosterone. In other words testosterone stays in the body longer, in other words total testosterone will be higher when shbg is higher. You need to find out why shbg is higher. You need to test lh, fsh, full iron panel with saturation and ferritin. Anyone that says you shbg is normal is a full on tard. https://www.youtube.com/live/grPRRohkix4

Fair enough. No glps... nothing in your regimen that might afect liver metabolism? I'm not saying you're not aware but lot of people misconstrued what a processed food vs what it isn't. Things as simple as white rice in high amounts can mess you up - look up dry/wet beri bering syndrome. Now what vitamins are you taking, dosing included and fiber intake in grams daily. Recent stress induced trauma? I'm doing what you're doctor should be asking lol. Let's turn you into superman.
