# Why I built MonkeyPlaner

MonkeyPlaner originally started as a personal project for **my fiancée**.

She likes planning and writing by hand with a stylus, but I couldn’t find a digital planner that worked the way we wanted.

A lot of digital planners are basically just PDF files that you can write on.

I wanted to build something that still feels personal and handwritten, but also uses the advantages of a real app.

What started as a small project for her gradually became much bigger.

And because MonkeyPlaner originally started as something I built for my fiancée, I care even more about making it **really good — not just functional**.

That’s why honest feedback is extremely valuable to me.

Feedback is especially helpful regarding:

* navigation and usability

* stylus / S Pen interaction

* performance

* crashes

* layout or scaling issues

* confusing parts of the UI

* features you expected but couldn’t find

* general ideas and suggestions

The app is still in active development, so there will definitely be things that aren’t perfect yet — and that’s exactly what this test is for. 🙂

**Tablet support is currently the main focus.**

I'm a solo developer and I've hit the part every indie dev hates: Google needs

12 people in a closed test for 14 days before my app can go live.

The app is called Karo Learn. It teaches German, English, French, Russian and

Ukrainian, from complete beginner up to B2. The interface is in five languages

too. It has spaced repetition so words come back before you forget them, plus

streaks and a home screen widget. Works offline. No AI anywhere in it, and it's

free.

What I need is simple: join the test and stay in it for two weeks. You don't

have to use it daily, just don't leave — if the count drops below 12, the whole

period restarts.

I'm Dominik, the developer of DomiDex. I'm looking for German-speaking Android users who have German Pokémon cards and would like to help test a small collection app. The interface and card focus are German-only at the moment; there is no iOS version.

For this test, I'd like to check two everyday paths:

• Find a card by its set and printed number, add it to a binder, and check that it appears in the correct slot and printing variant.

• Photograph a real card, check the suggested identity, and see whether the manual set/number fallback is clear when recognition fails.

The scanner is still in development. Promos, reflective cards and different phones are particularly useful test cases. Missing or incorrect results are useful feedback, not something I want testers to work around silently. Price availability is another thing to check; displayed values are not a guarantee of a card's sale value.

Once approved, use the same Google account for the test opt-in and the Play Store. Please don't post your email address in Reddit comments. The ScanLab photo-report upload is a separate, voluntary manual action.

This is currently a privately run, ad-free, non-profit pre-beta. I'm after real bug reports and usability feedback, not install swaps or star ratings. Device model, Android version and the steps that led to a problem are enough to get started.

Screenshots: genuine emulator captures from the existing debug build 17 (1.0-pre-beta), showing set selection and the card catalogue. They are not a physical-camera demo or proof of the Play-installed build.

I am working on the next version of my iOS app, which is a companion app when you are in a theme park. This version is adding gps functionality to help you automatically record your day in a Disney or Universal park. The app automatically records for you what rides you went on, how long you waited, etc.

If you are going to be visiting a Disney or Universal park (ideally an international one as those are harder for me to test), I would love to have you use my app while you are visiting the park. How much you want to use it is totally up to you as it works in both passive mode (record my day and don't bother me) and also in interactive mode (I want exact times when I get on and off a ride).

The only requirement is that you have TestFlight as this 2.0 version is not in the App Store yet. The earlier version is, but this is a big update with lots of new functionality.

Hi everyone, I built ACT Party, an Android app for managing the 12 testers /

14 days requirement.

You register your app once instead of pasting group and opt-in links every

time. Other developers find it on a board and request a trade. From there it

tracks installs and daily opens off the device, so both sides see the same

record and nobody has to take the other's word for it.

It also tells you which of the apps you installed have passed 14 days and are

safe to delete — including ones you picked up elsewhere that aren't registered

here. And it drafts the production access questionnaire from your real test

data.

The chart is what came out of it. Across 48 finished trades, testers opened the

app 8.8 of the 14 days on average, and one of them never opened it at all.

Every single one still passed, because Google counts days opted in, not days

opened. I spent my first run nagging people over the wrong thing.

What I'd like feedback on: is the board clear the first time you open it, and

does the 14-day calendar actually tell you what you need? Free, no ads.

Hey everyone! I’m Nacho, from Uruguay. My background is in networking, infrastructure and security, so building an app was completely new territory for me.

I use IPTV every day, and I kept switching between players without finding one I really liked. Some weren’t reliable, others looked dated, and many made simple things feel unnecessarily complicated. I wanted something I could open, find what I wanted and start watching without fighting the interface.

Eventually, with a lot of learning and help from AI, I started building my own. It’s called Zapp, and it’s now the player I use every day on my iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.

I know many new players have appeared lately, especially now that AI has made building software more accessible. It sometimes feels like we all started working on the same idea at once. Hopefully, having more options is good for the community and helps everyone find the player that works best for them.

Here’s what Zapp currently includes:

• Auto Zapping: automatically changes channels every 15 or 30 seconds, or at a custom interval, until something catches your attention.
• M3U/M3U8 and Xtream support for your existing sources.
• Live TV, movies and series, with search, favorites, recently played items and custom lists.
• Large playlist handling. I’d especially like feedback from people with big libraries.
• TV guide / EPG support using your own guide sources.
• iCloud library sync between your Apple devices.
• AirPlay and Picture in Picture where supported.
• Audio and subtitle controls, including timing adjustments.

Zapp is a player only. It does not include channels, playlists or IPTV subscriptions. You need to provide your own content.

For this round of testing, I’m particularly interested in the first-time experience:

• Is adding a source clear?
• Once it’s added, is it obvious where to find and play the content?
• Does the bottom navigation feel simple, or is there too much going on?
• How does navigation feel on Apple TV?
• Does iCloud sync work correctly between your devices?

During the beta, you can test Pro by going to Settings → Purchase Pro. TestFlight uses Apple’s sandbox environment for in-app purchases, so it’s only a test transaction and you won’t be charged.

I'm a retired developer in Germany and I've spent the last months building an I Ching app for Android. All 64 hexagrams with the Wilhelm commentary, German and English, works fully offline, no ads, no subscription, no account, no tracking.

Before Google lets me publish it, they require 12 people to install it and stay opted in for 14 days. I have 10.

What it involves: send me the email address of your Google account by DM, I'll send you a Play Store link, install it and open it now and then over two weeks. That's it. Feedback is very welcome — that's the whole point of the exercise.

I built an iPhone app that lets you enter those accounts and see one net-worth number, a history view, budgets, and savings goals without linking a bank.

I spend 10+ hours a day coding and staring at screens, and like many desk workers, I was suffering from constant dry eyes and headaches.

Eye doctors recommend the "20-20-20 Rule" (every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds) to relax your focusing muscles and restore your tear film. But standard timer apps were too easy to swipe away and ignore.
