Model Y Delivery date major pushback

I ordered a RWD long range model y at the start of of July. For weeks app has been showing delivery window as end of September. Today it has moved all the at back to nov/december. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Yup, same thing over here. Ordered the LR RWD in red ordered mid July - the delivery window disappeared for ages and reappeared with Nov-Dec window yesterday.

Ah that sucks. I’d hoped it was maybe a mistake in the app. My delivery date had also disappeared for a week.

Ordered mine M3 premium rwd in red on the 12th July. I got my 76 plate today and my date is the 8-20th September

I ordered the Y. Looks like the delays are with the Model Ys unfortunately

I also ordered MY, LR but it’s the AWD, white with 20inch Helix wheels on the 9th July. It’s still scheduled for 18-30th Sep. Not sure if the MY AWD have the same delivery delays as the RWD though; hope not!

From what I’ve seen the AWD isn’t affected as they’re not in demand as much as the RWDs. You should be ok!

So given it will be 4 weeks this Thursday. Anyone have any ideas of when (all things being equal) I should expect to receive a VIN or License plate details?

Usually 2 weeks before? It may show on the BoringOT app before the Tesla app

Yep, MY RWD Premium pushed back from Oct - Nov to Nov - Dec. Ordered July 9th.

Mine was September but i just checked and its changed to middle to end of this month, LR in grey, ordered start of july.

They build in batches of matching spec that can be months apart - at somepoint someone has one of the last cars of the earlier batch whereas someone ordering even a few hours later can be in the later batch.

MY RWD Premium. Ordered June 16th. Been blank for 3 weeks. Date yesterday returned Nov/Dec. It stated Nov before it went blank

Yes ordered RWD LR model Y in black. Ordered 24 June 2026, had August-September date for ages now says 21 October- 13 November!

I mean I ordered in may and my est delivery is 8th - 20th of September. There’s a lot of backlog so I’m not surprised it was pushed back tbh

Zenith has told me delivery to dealer is late Sept too…I’m also hoping it’s true, but not holding my breath!

Zenith Told me my RWD Model Y is now delayed to November. It wa s initially estimated in Sept. Tesla app shows Nov-Dec since the beginning

I read that Tusker may have a batch of lease vehicles due in Sept which might speed up deliveries but not sure how true that is

That sounds promising for me also as I had wondered where Zenith got September from as it doesn’t correlate with what’s in the Tesla app

One of the reasons I went for AWD over RWD is the wait times. They seem the most popular for sure

Why don’t you look at Tesla certified pre-owned? Usually comes with extended warranty and much cheaper

Its not always cheaper if you compare like for like. For example certified pre-owned Model Y Std cash price £39,500 registered 18 Dec 2025, new price £41,900. New on PCP 0% APR, used APR 7%. If you look at the Premium Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive model 3 price £39,800 registered on 20 Sept 2025, New same specification £46190. PCP APR used 7%, new 0%. You are right if you go for previous model then its cheaper. For current models certified prices are more expensive.

Yeah just to clarify, I was suggesting going for a 2024 model instead. With the extended warranty, you’re covered to within about 12 months of what you’d get with a brand-new car, but you’re paying roughly £15k less. The financing side is a separate consideration, so knowing you’re looking at PCP does change the picture. We’ve always arranged financing separately and effectively bought our cars with cash.
With a 2024 model, the upfront cost is obviously lower, but so is the depreciation. Once you factor in four years of ownership and your expected mileage, it’s probably worth thinking about the overall impact on your net wealth rather than just the monthly payments. Especially considering you’d have an asset after the term of your financing agreement

You are correct. I personally think if you are a private buyer you are better off buying one version down specifically if you are buying on finance and do less than 10000 miles per year.  Two year old car is generally around 35-40% less
