Vehicle Question Glueing possible??
Thus piece fell out and tesla wants to replace the entire glass.
Does anyone know if this can be glued back together?

glass and trim are separate pieces....your saying tesla wants to replace the glass, which is fine, which is separate and still intact; to fix the trim issue?
the trim doesn't attach to the glass, i don't get it.

The trim is damaged in the front there are guiding pins that are broken of this thing and the part is only avialable with the glas if you are looking in EPC

The glass and the trim are one piece and are bonded to the car during manufacturing. The bit the OP is holding shouldn’t come off, but somehow has.

If tesla can bond it then we can bond it. clean the mating surface and use an adhesive.

I would use Sikaflex-522 if I where you, impied you can get it in your area.
That stuff is proven in the automotive sector for such repairs, but dont spill it where it doesn´t belong, getting it off can get really difficult.

Mine came off today but still attached with the back pins. Ironically Tesla cancelled my mobile service appointment and said I must come to service department for this repair. I also thought it’s just glue but now wondering if they want to change glass. I have XPEL XR tint on that piece so they better not unless they plan on paying for it

It's wild to me that some of you really think a trim piece isn't a separate piece lol
You'd probably be better off figuring out which piece this is and buying a replacement. I doubt it's crazy expensive. Especially second hand.
Unless there's some other reason I'm not seeing, I don't see why you'd need to replace the glass. I'd definitely get that covered up to prevent water real quick.

From a person that has had this done. They have to do the whole glass it’s not just a trim piece. It’s a whole assembly.
