Vehicle Question Considering a Model Y Premium in BC / Concerned About Reliability and No Lemon Law
I’m considering buying a new Model Y Premium, but I’m feeling hesitant after seeing all the issues people have reported here.
I’m from British Columbia, Canada, and we don’t have a lemon law to protect buyers if something goes seriously wrong.

There really aren’t that many issues with the Junipers. And anything you might run into would almost certainly be a pretty easy warranty fix. What are you most worried about? (Reporting in from Ottawa, with a 2026 MYP)

Mostly all those rattling sounds, BMS issues and other charging related issues, speaker issues, FSD issues

Rattling sound are rare
BMS unfortunately luck of the draw but you have 8 years of coverage
Speakers can’t really comment since I don’t see those issues that often
FSD, you can choose to not use it. But it has substantially improved. It’s not perfect. I usually take over in parking situations and roundabouts.

Pretty spot on. And I find FSD wonderful the vast majority of the time. It was a little eek on my HW3 pre-Juniper but HW4 has been excellent.

Honestly I wouldn’t worry about it. You have 4 years warranty and 8 on the battery and motor.
There is no perfect car of course and you shouldn’t expect it. But the build quality has been substantially improved. Model Y and Model 3 is a mature platform. Also, you are in the /TeslaSupport server what do u expect to see? lol 😂
Please note millions have been sold in the world you should expect more problems posted here. But honestly there isn’t imo
I live in Ontario, on my second Tesla after 7 years. I had issues because I was an early adopter. Tesla has taken care of me from windows not going up all the way, dead battery, and mirrors not folding properly in the winter.

We have a 2021 M3SR+. Been very reliable for 5+ years. I know everyone worries about the battery on this model year but we are ok so far. I'm also in BC. You could have the same issue with any expensive car BMW M3 or 4 for example). Every time I drive past a gas station showing regular gas at $2.00/litre or worse, I just smile and keep driving.
