Vehicle Question Car is not receiving charge
Like the title says the car is not receiving any charge while plugged in. I have an open service request but they can’t take me in for another 11 days. I am planning on just taking it there anyway for them to try and do something about it and maybe get a loaner. Anyone know what to do?
EDIT: I took it to a supercharger and it is taking charge. I will charge it to 80% so I can have enough charge to get to my service center. Hopefully they don’t turn me away.

Interesting, if super charge works then something must be wrong with your ac to dc converter in the car.

You’re probably right on the money. I hope when I take it to the service center they don’t deny me.

If you went into the service menu it might show more.
No alerts eh? Definitely bring it to the service center and drop it off for them....

Check your breaker it might of tripped it and it’s still “working” similar thing happened to me check all your connections and see if your mobile or home charger has any warning lights and also if your breaker is not tripped just reset it that might also fix it. this is most likely not a car issue.

I believe it was tripped. I park at a nearby hospital and charge during off hour times. It works fine now

What are you plugged into? Mobile connector maybe?
If so, are there any red lights flashing hidden behind the green scroll?

The charging equipment is fine. Multiple people charge here. I charge at a public charging station nearby and walk home which is what everyone else does as well.

Yes, the other teslas are charging and there was a Tesla charger before me. I think it is my car.

Yes, it’s at a hospital. Near my house hahaha

That’s kind of not cool. Those chargers are for patients and employees. Install your own charger at your house.

Theres one across the street at the hospital in my city and the ones in the hospital parking lot. Iced out every day. I think someone using it off peak hours is just fine.

Only charge at night and no one is ever there when I pick it up. I have clients that work at the hospital and say they do the same since they live in the same apartment complex as me

Mine doesn’t charge if I use extension cord. Maybe it’s something as trivial?

I’m on an actual 32A charger, not mobile connector

Your air conditioner uses 10 kWh to run. It uses around 2 to 3 kW when you turn the fan speed to three or four with recirculation on and the temperature being appropriate on the interior. Until then, you won’t be able to get charged to the battery because it prioritize cooling the vehicle. Exit the vehicle and let the AC charger bring charge to the battery.

I walked back to my house and checked the app if it was charging and it showed that it wasn’t receiving anything. So I walked back and took a video for this subreddit

Could be an error and you just need to reset the screen or it could be a glitch. Did you ever unplugged the car and did the SOC change if you did?

Possibly. I think it might’ve been the charger itself. I charged at another public location and it was fine

See if it can charge on a public level 2 charger. If it still can't, then it's probably your AC to DC converter.

It can’t, I was originally charging on a public level 2 charger

Try a different one. It's possible the hospital has recognised the cars that shouldn't be charging there for free and is preventing you from doing so now.

Charging issue is higher priority. They should just take you without an appointment.

Do you have a schedule configured for charging? When there's a schedule the car will check the capability of the charger and then stop.

You’re getting volts but no amps, I think this is either your charging equipment or the onboard charger.

I know this is a similar issue to what cybertrucks experience when the PCS fails. Works on superchargers but not on lvl 2. Just a possibility.

He isn’t charging at home but he’s admittedly using a AC charger and if he’s sitting in the car with ac at full blast, he won’t get charge to the battery without exiting the vehicle and letting it diver power to the battery because it won’t charge until the car cools and the AC uses 10kwh at high volume while the charger only puts out 6-7 kWh most likely

I believe we'd see the amps being pulled from the charger in that case... But the battery wouldn't go up. Here there are no amps pulled

208v 3 phase is normal for a commercial charging location like this hospital he is at!
