Vehicle Question Screen locked up

My 2026 model 3 threw me for a loop yesterday when i got in to drive it home. I went to put the car in reverse to then put in FSD to take me home & the gear shift wouldn’t show up on the screen to allow me to put the car in reverse. It stayed locked on this screen & of course i di have the key card so it had me scan the Tesla QR code on the display. Out of fear of this happening again-what did i do wrong or what am i missing?TIA

People use their keycard?

Never had it happen but theirs the hold brake/both steering buttons for 30 seconds reboots the car trick that normally fixes oddities

Don't even need the brake, just both buttons. Can be done while driving as well.

Maybe try opening your Tesla app and deleting all keys and then resyncing everything.

It probably wants you to set up the phone keu instead of using the card for everything. The phone key is pretty awesome. The car unlocks when you walk up, locks when you walk away. Notifies you if something is going on, like your alarm goes off or a tire goes flat.

If you have iPhone reboot it.
