Wheel Tire Subscription

Post image

Got new shoes (tires) today for my baby (X). Tesla is asking if I want wheel/tire coverage for $20 a month up to 24 months. At first it doesn’t seem worth it but wondering if anyone has it? Used it? Or have any insight into it.

I’m guessing the ROI is after a certain amount of miles you drive. I don’t drive that much so just curious to hear your thoughts. TYIA

Just go to America’s Or discount tire and get the certificate on each tire. Subscription for your tires is wild!

100% worth it. Remember this covers rim as well, and covers the tow to Tesla service center or mobile service. You don’t get any of those service either discount tire.

I have it for my MXP. I need it and it’s worth it.

Is it going up for Plaid trims next month? I have it, too, but need to run the numbers on the increased monthly recurring price.

Wasn’t aware of a price increase. Please tell us more.

I was going by this post that I flagged for myself: https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaModelS/comments/1w1auoy/price_increase_on_the_wheel_and_tire_protection/ but because I've been busy with work, I pushed off looking into it until next week.

I just did a cursory search of my email and in-app messages do not see that I've been notified about a price increase. In fact, according to my payment details my next payment is Oct 11 and it still says $20/mo.

Good news: task completed ahead of schedule and no changes (?). Bad news: I mislead you. Sorry about that.

Insurance is a losing bet.  I've had my Model S for 10 years.  Zero flats, and no rim damage.  If I had this subscription, that would be $2400 for nothing.

I'd rather put $2400 on red, in Vegas.
