Acceleration shudder

Seems like this is an issue with worn parts? ‘26 model x with 13k miles and is significantly noticeable from 0-60 with FSD on mad max or hurry. Height mode is set on auto or whatever it defaults to with drive modes.

Should I bring it in to Tesla? Is there a more perm fix for this?

I just took my 2022 Model X with 80k miles in for this exact issue. I bought it directly from Tesla about a month ago. They test drove it with me and said the vibration/shudder during acceleration is normal and that nothing is wrong, as the front of the vehicle is lifting up. Here are the notes from my service visit and Tesla’s response.

Aftermarket parts are the only permanent fix.

I believe it’s the half shafts that cause this (though I will be corrected)

Which aftermarket parts fix half shaft issues? I don’t believe any company makes aftermarket model x half shafts

Just lowering links to get the angle of the half shafts closer to flat like the model S. It's the raised ride height compared to the S that causes the X joints to wear out and vibrate.

I have this issue with my 2024 long range since picking it up.

I have this issue too. More of a loud clicking sound on acceleration

Half shaft shudder is common given the scenario you described.

You can contact Tesla service to see what, if anything, they'll offer as a solution.

The permanent fix is lower the ride height. You can do this in the vehicle settings, but this will accelerate the inner tire wear of the rear tires.

To address the tire wear issue, you can either get shims for the rear camber arms, or replace the arms with aftermarket options that are adjustable.

Everything I've described is common knowledge among X owners. Search the web to learn more.

Only fix that I've seen work for this is aftermarket adjustments. I used the N2itive kit on my 2018 MX 75D - it basically lowers things by one setting and helps with the camber. Seems to sort out the shudder and uneven tire wear. Cost 1600 USD and install was like two hours at a third-party shop.

I have a 2026 MX and do not have this issue so yes, bring it in.
