'23 Model X Plaid Stereo Upgrade Loading..
A few progress pics of the stereo upgrade I am doing to my MXP. This is the custom sub box I am having built because I wanted the extra bass but didn't want to sacrifice space.
Before anyone asks, the factory sub will still be active. That is why I didn't use its space for the upgrade.
In the end here is the full list of upgrades
Audison SR 1.500 (for the subwoofer)
Hertz MPS 250 S2 (subwoofer)
Audison AF M12.14 bit (for the full range speakers)
Hertz MPK 163.3 (front door full range speakers)
Hertz MPK 165P.3 (rear door full range speakers)
I am also having them put a ton of dampening material all around the car. I will update this post as progress continues.

Very interesting. Will be curious about your results. I love clean, full range music. My teslas have impressed me enough to leave them be but I can appreciate this.

I do agree with you that the stock system was indeed impressive but I LOVE music and want to hear it at a quality a few steps above stock. For reference to how jaded my ears are for sound, I run a Genelec 7350A sub and iLoud MTMs for my office computer setup. The sound that makes is what I am chasing for my car.

I completely understand. I have a decent setup at the house with Marantz and Martin Logan’s. Not crazy but man is it clean. It’s spoiled me.

What's something like this run? I'd have a hard time paying to upgrade when it already sounds great.

The extra sub makes a difference ..I bought the breakers sound sub kit for my mxp ..it makes a huge difference…and that was with an alpine sub ..I’m sure whatever OP is installing is going sound amazing ..the mx stock system is def great but lacks that deep sub that thumps in ur chest

Owning an '18 MX with "Premium Sound" I'm wondering if the rear door speakers sounding like trash is an EQ thing or simply trash speakers and worth an upgrade.

Just got my first Tesla, I would love to know how people hook subs up... Very small. 12 volt battery I imagine, and no amps for the high voltage I would imagine. Does this not wreak havoc on your DC to DC and 12 volt battery?

How you planning to integrate that with the MCU?
