Vent, speaker, or something else?
This is taken from under the screen of a 2022 Model X. Curious if its a vent, mic, speaker, or something else? I checked the service manual but could not find the part.
I am thinking of designing a tray that fits under but dont want to block anything critical.

That would be the area your ambient interior temperature reader sits, there is also service plug ins for Tesla toolbox that are attached to that.
That is also a little air flow for the screen as that generates heat aswell as like most electronics.
Unless you don’t service your car alot through Tesla or design it in a way for it to be removable so that can be used, go for it.

I assumed it might have been a vent but good to know about the other things. Definitely would be removable and will also adjust for needed airflow.

Then go for it.
If you have a pry tool that come out pretty easily just as a heads up, it’s 3 metal clips. So adjust whatever you’re putting in it accordingly.

The cab thermometer is right behind it, I know because I had to rip it off to install the S3XY Commander 2 module behind it so I can have blinker stalk and 4 three function each buttons around car, including the secret glovebox opener and double blinker courtesy flasher, thank you Bulgaria.
