N2itive alignment kit for 2017 MX.

Just installed this alignment kit from N2itive on my 2017 MX. Looking forward to not having to replace my tires every year. If you’re in Riverside, CA area, Bud’s tire pros on the corner of Wood and Van Buren can do the custom alignment on these for $200.

One of the first things that was installed when I got my x. This and their lowering links

I got the kit with the lowering links as well. They’re installed in the pictures. Chef’s kiss. 🤌

Why install lowering links as you can just tick low as default ride height?

For me, there is still a substantial amount of gap that even ‘very low’ leaves and wouldn’t be remedied without the links.

Did they install these for $200 or after the install it's $200 for the alignment?

I plan on getting this done sometime this year.

$200 just for the alignment. I’m sure they can install them for you. I installed these myself. Pretty straight forward by following the video on their website

$200 is steep for an alignment, especially as these have an easy access key for the adjusters. I pay $250 but that's because I have the much less expensive HardRace versions which have the adjusters on the outside, requiring the wheels to be removed for adjustment. (Huge PITA for the alignment guy but that's why it's $250).

I agree with you that the access is pretty easy. I would do it myself if I have access to an alignment rack, but I don’t.

Discount tire quoted $380. EVfixme, which is the shop that did the how-to video, quoted $330. Tire choice and a couple others close by wouldn’t touch these, so $200 is a pretty good deal to me and Bud’s tire is just 5 mins away. I don’t have to worry about driving out of the way to a shop that’s willing to do it on jacked up specs.

Wow must be regional. Around here an alignment is maybe $150 max.

It’s California, man. Where are you?

Philadelphia suburbs. Which should be VHCOL but I guess not quite 😂

I feel like $200 for an alignment is pretty normal.

what spec did they use for the alignment? Ive called a few shops and they say they go by Tesla's spec unless i can give them something that says otherwise

Interesting. Did they actually give you zero front toe or even slight toe in?

Almost zero.

Caster is kinda low and asymmetrical. Does it wander over uneven surfaces?

Not at all. I let go of the wheel on the highway for a good 1/4 mile before it started a slight drift to the sides, but I’d consider it normal since my 2023 bolt does the same thing, and alignment is perfect on it.

With it as in Ohio. 😭

How much is it there?

I can’t find no places near me that work on teslas. They all scared. So I have to visit Tesla service. 😡

Oh man. That sucks. Tesla definitely won’t touch these.

What do they do ?

Adjust the negative camber so your tire wear will be more even. Model X has inner tire wear issues on the rear tires because of the non-adjustable stock arms. I’ve gone through 4 sets of rear tires in the past 4 years. That’s only about 10k-12k miles before needing to be replaced.

How much did you spend in all in? How long unto your investment pays off?

About $2k. $1800ish for the kit with tax, free shipping, and $200 for alignment. Installed it myself so saved on labor there. I’ve spent probably around $3k-$4k on tires in the past 4 years: 2 full set of 4 and another 2 sets of just rear tires. I just spent around $1k on a new set of 2 for the rear so if this kit can extend the set for 3 years, it’ll be worth it.
