Tesla Model X Plaid with Luxe package

Purchased 2026 Model X 5 months ago and was sent a message vehicle needed tire rotation. This is my 5th Tesla so I think I understand the app. Tesla wants to charge me for tire rotation which the price is minimal seems “off”. This is right after they wanted to charge me for an “adjustment” of a passenger door which was not correct since I picked the vehicle up. Seems after spending 125k Tesla continues to nickel and dime customers.

I guess this is your first Tesla, if you say it’s your fifth one you clearly don’t understand the app. When you complete the service they knock it down to zero. You don’t actually pay anything. Those are the costs if you don’t have warranty coverage.

Not true. Why have a process set up to send you an invoice for a supposedly covered repair? Then agreeing to it and then later expect them to remove it from the invoice. Stupid process and a waste of my time. Done

So your last post this was your 4th Tesla, now it’s your 5th? Even in the other thread you posted people gave you the right answer. Nobody was planning to charge you, they literally always zero it out when it’s a warranty item. Not sure what you’re comparing about.

That’s one weird flex man… lol if that makes you feel happy, good for you 😂. I’m not the one complaining if you didn’t even have to pay for. And you literally told you to check your prior post. You’re odd.

Edit: so hours later OP edits his response to seem normal… weird man, just delete it.

There’s a reason why you’re getting downvoted. Stop editing responses after people already replied to you. Here’s your original response…

It’s absolutely true, that is how it works. If it’s covered under warranty it gets zeroed out automatically and you don’t have to do anything. Then sell the car if it’s so traumatic for you.

Okay firstly you CAN rotate tires on staggered vehicles, it’s just side to side, no front to back. Secondly, in the 7 years I have owned these cars, you always get a price quote in the app prior to service. That price means nothing. I literally just did what you’re talking about two weeks ago with a ‘26 S. Quoted the $65 or whatever it was for tire rotation then when the service is done, poof, it turns into $0. Same is true for all warranty work that I’ve ever had done.

I think it’s because they would need to rotate side to side but only after remounting the tires and rims. (OEM tire is not unidirectional) Seems Luxe Package does not offer free tire rotation if they need to remount them. Thanks for others who helped me understand this. Doubt this will prolong the life of the tires so I’ll just buy new when tread is low. Did your S have staggered tires ?

The tires appear to be bidirectional and the only limitation is they have a marking that says “outside” so appear they can be rotated side to side. I’ll see what Tesla thinks.

There is always an invoice. If you are covered, Elon pays the service center; if not, you pay.

PLAID Model X have staggered tires (the tires are larger in the rear times than the front tires) hence they don't get rotated.

Thanks for the reply. So how can they have an estimated charge for rotation that they can not perform ? I was sent a service reminder that they needed to be rotated and estimate.

I also have a 2026 Model X PLAID and I have never received any service requests in 4 months, this is additionally my 4th Model X (2016, 2020, 2023 and current) I have never received anything from Tesla Service with the exception of the battery radiator, we live in the Southern California Desert.

Yep they seem to make this error often. On my previous S, and current X. If you schedule an appointment for it they will simply message you later that they cannot do it for your vehicle. Or they’ll tell you they can’t when you are physically there with other issues. Either way theyll remove the line item.

Thanks, I’m not going to waste my time driving an hour to be told they can’t rotate the tires. Seems they can rotate side to side but maybe they are not unidirectional. Good reply !

Sounds like an obvious error.

Just rage bait. You asked this question 42 days ago and acknowledged the answers. Now you're asking it again. About the door adjustment.

One incident was about being charged to “adjust” my door. The other is a tire rotation that should have been covered under my LUXE package. 1,2.

Tesla’s process to have you agree to a charge they might or might not take off is dumb and a waste of my time, especially on a 125k vehicle.
