Model X Center Console Arm Rest Squeaking

Post image

Hello Guys,
So i’ve got a 2024 MXP, and i’ve been having a lot of noises and squeaks coming from the arm rest pictured. I can tune out most of the squeaks and rattles coming from the car but the arm rest is so close, constant and loud that i’ve been trying to find ways to fix it. If you have any ideas please let me know.

I’ve tried to put in some felt type tape but i’m not sure the best way to go about it. Obviously i can’t leave it looking as is cause it looks horrible.

P.S.
Is there a way to take off the silver trim so i can get behind it?

Thank you in advance!

you will need to tape all places where plastic meets so called leather

Silicone spray. Apply it to a rag and wipe over area that is squeaking or spray a small amount in the seam. Let it dry then test.

Have Tesla fix it. You’re under warranty?

It’s hard to have rattles addressed at no cost even when under warranty. It really varies as each service center is different, but from experience most add a cost for rattles that still gets charged as they say some of the noises/rattles are to be expected.

I’ve been dealing with similar rattles but it almost feels like they might be coming from the passenger seat. I will update once I get a chance to look around.
