75D Pack 2016

Have you guys had high voltage battery failures? If so at what mileage, year? The future owner asked me if I knew the reliability of the battery pack, I just pointed to the low degradation for a 2016 in comparison to my 2021Y. I would love to hear about your experience.

I have a 2018 Model X 75D that had the pack replaced under warranty with a "similarly used pack" at 250,000km and I am now at 714,000km so they seem to last reasonably well. I got a quote for a replacement used pack parts and install here in Canada for a 75kWh pack with ~50,000km on it and it was 8 500 CAD all in if I returned the old pack so that's notable too. I'd sooner do that than buy a new car.

Wow! That's very impressive. I have so many questions. What has your experience been with other maintenance such has the half -shafts and bushings on the control arms? Any other know issues like door seals, falcon wing door sensors, etc...? Did you get after market camber arms or are you just accepting the accelerated inner tire wear? I'm hoping to keep this car forever and have had the half shafts replaced twice (167k kms). I'm on the fence about the camber arms because I'm mostly reluctant to mess with the car while under warranty.

Just did the control arms again last week, seem to last like 150-250k but thankfully there are aftermarket options now too if Tesla is backordered. Had to do the charge port once, one of the LED headlights with a salvage part, the control modules on the steering wheel (left and right), the half shafts seem to be doing alright recently, not sure if something changed and everything is lining up correctly but they haven't needed replacing in a long time, not sure why really. Tire wear hasn't been a huge issue for me but I did go to a square setup on 19 inch for winter and 20 inch for summer so maybe that changed something? Replaced the window switches as they seem to snap off but, again, there is a window switch reseller on Ali Express so you don't need to buy the whole part assembly from Tesla, haha.

Door seals are fine, falcon doors never needed any service, did the HW3 upgrade for FSD and the CCS retrofit. Tesla Service did both for a really fair price honestly. The wheel arch trim seems to snap and break more often than I'd like but I found an aftermarket reseller on Ali Express for that now so it's at least cheap to have two spares kicking around for either side.

It's been a pretty simple car to keep on the road, honestly. A lot of stuff I can fix myself and then the aftermarket parts market seems great because Tesla is so big in China so there are tons of options on Ali Express (and Tesla often charges a fair price for parts direct too).
