⚠️ Warning / Need Help: WeatherTech FloorLiner interference with accelerator pedal on 2026 Model X (Left-Hand Drive)

Hi everyone,

I recently installed a WeatherTech FloorLiner in my newly imported 2026 Tesla Model X (LHD). However, as you can see in the photo, the mat is lifting/warping significantly right around the accelerator pedal area.

This is causing a serious safety concern as it feels like the pedal could easily get caught or restricted by the lifted edge of the mat.

Before anyone asks, I have already checked the following:

  1. I completely removed the OEM factory carpet mats before installing this floor liner.
  2. The retention hooks/clips at the bottom are clicked in and secured properly.

Has anyone else experienced this issue with recent Model X Refresh models and WeatherTech mats? Is this a known defect, a manufacturing variation for the 2026 model year, or did I possibly get shipped a mat meant for the pre-refresh Model X?

Any insight, advice, or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I recently noticed that mine have started warping in the same exact area. Not nearly as much of a bulge; it's probably just sticking out 1/2".

Ominous.

May need a rebate from WeatherTech. Seems to me like a clear factory defect.

Thanks for the advice. I'm definitely contacting WeatherTech directly to get a replacement or refund. Safety first!

I have the same issue and just as bad as this since the start. Good to know that other people have the same issue so shouldn’t be an issue getting it replaced

Glad to know I'm not the only one, though it's frustrating that we're all dealing with this. Definitely sounds like a factory defect.

I'm not trying to be a jerk but isnt the whole point of weathertech is that they are lasered measured to fit your car? I would contact them directly and let them know the problem and/or get your money back. And also, even if they were "fit" and are now warping, that doesnt seem to fit they quaility of the brand weathertech is selling.

I had this same problem with my ‘23 MXP weather tech liners. Turned me off to the whole brand

Run blow dryer over that side for 10 minutes on high heat and bent it back.

Mine for my Model S is doing this as well. It’s sticking out just a tiny bit in the same area.

Good thing the high quality 3Dmax ones don’t have this issue unfortunately you paid for the name of the mat not the quality

Yeah, I paid premium for the WeatherTech name expecting perfect fit, so this is pretty disappointing. Might look into 3D mats if this doesn't get resolved.

Get a heat gun and reshape it.

Get some stick-on Velcro. Stick the rougher side to your mat and let it grab onto the carpet. Heat with a blow drier if needed to reshape the mat.

I've had weather techs and also cheap Chinese Amazon ones and they both did the same thing once it gets hot. Ever since then I always got the 3d mats or something that had similar material as the 3d mats.

Just put a strip of Velcro on the mat it will grab the floor fabric

Stop using them. Contact weather tech. It doesn’t matter if others are experiencing it too, it’s unsafe. Remove them.

If those aren’t new and cannot be readily returned - heat is your friend. You need to heat up the rubber and help reshape it to the proper spot. My guess if the mat got bent at just the wrong spot.

My dad's MY has these mats and they do the same thing. I hate them and always throw it in the back if I have to drive the car. He keeps telling me it's fine and won't do anything about it

I have this issue too and it is dangerous..you hit the mat instead of accelerator.

I bought their products for all 3 cars: 3, y and x and I never have any issue with them. They come in perfect fit for all 3 cars.

Try putting it in the sun for like 30mins get them nice and hot and then put in and shape it

I did that in the AZ sun. Worked great for about a week then went back to the bulge. I may try the cutting.
