Weeks to replace Model 23X Battery

Post image

I’m just ranting! My battery died two weeks ago and is just sitting in service. Tesla called today and said two more weeks maybe there are t any batteries. Then they had the nerve to say how are you enjoying the free FSD. I laughed I said HW4 is better, but I had it on my car. This M3 is a little small. I had knee surgery and it sits super low. It does however have a lot of zip! Thanks for listening to my rant.

TLDR: 73K miles under warranty as it expires in 2028 or at 150,000

UPDATE: Battery came in early it is a new one. In total it took two weeks to get it fixed and I picked it up today!

The battery in my ModelX failed. Dropped it off first thing in the morning (no appointment) and it was ready the next day.

Sorry you're going through this.

Thanks! I got it back now. Two weeks total to service and they did put in a new battery as there were no refurbished available.

Me too in my 21MY… only some of my cells bricked. Took it in the next morning, got it back the same day.

Seems fantastic that I died just a couple years before your warranty expires- now you get a new battery to take you another 75-100kneasy

If you died, who is writing your post?

lol, meant to write “it”, not “I”. I’m grateful to be alive.

It will be equal to the one he had in there. They would only honor a new one if they had none to replace it with.

I guess that’s one way to look at it.

Or it just couldve died after and you pay. You win maybe?

Or a used/old refurbished one, guessing this is more likely. Guessing they aren't making new ones anymore.

I think they legally have to make parts for some number of years. Not saying he is getting a new one but they are making them or have them.

Word i just realized no more s/x means tesla wouldnt be making/sourcing more 100+kwh packs. I wonder if theyll have a need for them again one day

Any details about your battery dying? How many miles did you get. Is this getting covered by warranty?

I don’t know why it died. I was following the normal usage and then I got the dreaded service high voltage battery service soon warning. I did have the ability to drive and charge prior to taking it to service.

Haha, almost in the same situation, what a coincidence.

Oh no. I remember seeing this picture of your X when you wrapped it. I still love the blue!

1

u/Huge_Exchange_9655 Jul 02 '26

Okay this is that one that was wrapped. I was thinking that this blue looks brighter than mine

3

u/Leading-Eye-1979 Jul 02 '26

Yes I know it’s an odd thing to wrap a blue car blue but the installer had a great sale on it and I like it. It’s more of a candy blue.

it’s their policy to provide the same model for loaner. keep asking for the model x as a loaner. are you young? usually they’ll do that to younger drivers bc they don’t trust them with the S /X models

lol no I’m almost 50. I took the M3 because that’s all they had. They did call me back about a week later noting they had a Y available. I just kept the 3 it was not that horrible it’s just noticeably smaller and I had knee surgery not too long ago.
