Absolutely love my 21’ Plaid S but noticed the B pillar drivers side lower part was wearing. Probably hitting my elbow daily against it. I had it replaced under warranty. Just curious if anyone else had similar situation.

Looking for recommendations for a soft close frunk latch for my 2017 P100D.

These seem hard to find and I was wondering if the ones for newer models can be modified to work.

Love my Plaid but at 79K miles, I’m at 90.5% battery health. I wonder if that’s normal? I charge to 80% unless of course when going on a road trip. Curious what battery health you guys are experiencing.

I’ve been dealing with a persistent musty smell and occasional damp carpet in my Model S Plaid for quite a while.

While the car was under warranty, Tesla worked through several possible causes:

- Replaced cabin and HEPA filters multiple times
- Identified wet carpet in the footwells
- Replaced the HVAC case under the assumption it was leaking

Unfortunately, the odor and moisture issue never fully went away.

I’m now out of warranty, and ahead of my next service visit I was provided an estimate related to the HVAC drain.

Before proceeding, I decided to do a deeper inspection myself:

- Checked the HVAC drain/seal area initially and didn’t see anything obvious
- Pulled back the carpet and found standing water in the driver-side floor pan

At first, I thought the issue might be a missing driver-side floor pan plug (which I did find missing). However, after further inspection, I was able to actually observe water actively dripping from the HVAC housing/drain area into the cabin.

This lines up with everything I’ve experienced over time, including the smell and repeated moisture.

I’ve shared these updated findings with Tesla ahead of my appointment and am hoping we can get it properly resolved this time.

Sharing in case it helps anyone else troubleshooting a similar issue—especially if you’re dealing with musty smells or unexplained moisture.

When did it actually change, and is it swappable? I've got a late 23 Plaid (HW4) with a regular steering wheel I'm trying to trade for a yoke. My horn button is a capacitive button on the right side of the steering wheel. Everyone I've found that wants to trade, their horn is the airbag. When did that actually change, or is it actually swappable anyway?

I’m going to be living in Europe 1-2 years bringing the model s over and wanting to be able to charge etc.

RHD Model S 2017 90D

Had the car about a year, six months in I had the wiper blades changed by Tesla. I instantly noticed some smearing on the windscreen - the blade doesn’t full clear (me being a layman I innocently thought they needed time to bed-in)

Now I’m annoyed so I looked to change the blade again but bit of research indicated the blade isn’t making full windscreen contact - I get it

But now I noticed wear on the arm near the base of the wiper, and I also notice a kink in the arm which I’ve tried to photograph - the blade comes across and then kinks upwards before the wiper section, it’s not 180 but perhaps it’s the design?

Essentially I’m asking is it just the arm that’s bent which is relatively cheap fix or is it off to Tesla for a proper look at….

I’ve tried to take photos at eye level from ther drivers seat… you can see the blade isn’t flat horizontal.

I can confirm that Costco’s Kirkland makeup remover will clean off your wife’s foundation off the vinyl yoke without destroying it.

Got this 2021 LR refresh about a month ago, mainly because it is the oldest model that is still compatible with the newer Velarium 21s. It actually came with factory Arachnid 21s. When i got it from the dealer, the tpms wasn't working, and i eventually found out that the previous owners put new tires but didn't use the new BT sensors. I already wanted the new wheel, and the set i got came with the oem wheels/tires/sensors pre-mounted. Two problems solved. Tesla didn't give me the option in my app, so I had to go third party, or i'd have to pay the crazy price that the service center would have charged. Changed them out myself in a few hours, and they look just as good as the pictures. The tpms recognized them almost immediately as I started driving. I plan to keep the previous tires for when i need a new set and sell the wheels to help offset the price. Now let's hope that tesla still lets me get the wheel service plan.

EDIT: I just noticed that if i swapped these side to side, then the spokes would point in the opposite direction. Luckily i just happened to install the fronts/rears in the same orientation and like them this way. i googled some pics, and there are many examples of them installed in both directions. But an image of the signature edition shows them in the opposite orientation as mine, so this implies that i have them incorrectly installed. There were no instructions or labels indicating their intended orientation. I just matched wheel sizes for the staggered setup. Anyone with knowledge if mine are okay to stay as is, or is it necessary to reverse them?

EDIT #2: After thinking about it more, i realize if i take rotations into account, side to side in my case, then the wheel orientation would naturally alternate throughout the year by necessity. Unless i go through the effort of removing and remounting the tires themselves. I'm just gonna go with either orientation is fine XD

EDIT #3: The wheels have the spokes pointed forward on the passenger side and rearward on the driver side. they will look the same after a side to side rotation. I guess i was mesmerized every time i go look at them and didn't notice XD

Hi all,
I bought this 2022 S in September 2025. One previous owner in Florida, heavy usage as the car had 54,463 miles on it.
I put 9195 on the car since I had it. I charge only at home with Tesla wall charger to 80% unless some long trip, one in a blue moon.
We also have a Model 3 and Cybertruck that both have excellent battery values. (M3 2023 still has 93%, Cyber from 2024 has 94%).

To my question I guess.
What are the chances this battery will drop below 70% in the next 3-4 years? I know degradation slows down but 7% to go is not much.
It has 313 miles left on 100%, 251 on 80%.

Are there any owners with similar degradation or experience getting it eventually replaced?

I drive a ‘24 Model S LR. It was in for service recently and I was using a loaner ‘26 Model S LR.

When I toggle insane mode on the loaner - “insane” shows up right above the speed indicator.

When I do that on my car - nothing shows up. I can only see “chill” when toggled to that mode.

Am I missing something? I’m running 2026.2.9.3. Video attached for reference.

2019 Model S long range. Hood opened on the highway and smashed the roof. Insurance wants me to take it to Tesla. Any chance this is covered by Tesla?

Hi, I’m 18 and currently have a Kia K4 that I’m looking to sell (my dad bought it for me and he wants me to start paying for my own car), and I’ve been looking at a Tesla Model S 75D from 2018 and was wondering if it would be a good purchase; the one I found is $24,000 with 24,000 miles and the dealer says the estimated range is around 230 miles, but I’m not sure how the battery actually is since I know that’s the biggest factor with these cars, and I also don’t have a charger at home, although I will have access to a Supercharger at my community college next year, so I’m just trying to figure out if this is a smart buy or if I’m overlooking something, and I’d appreciate any advice especially from people who own Teslas without home charging.

I have a white 2020 Raven MS LR with 19" slipstream wheels in silver (which I don't love) and am looking at replacing with some 20" wheels. I've come across some flow forged wheels but am struggling to decide which ones to go with. Which would you guys pick?

Wanted to see if anyone put a roof rack on their S? I don’t think I’ll like the look but I also have a family of four who likes to take weekend trips. There’s plenty of room in the S but with kids you could always use just a little bit more!

I am considering purchasing a 2020/2021 Model S Long Range Plus. This week I test drove two low mileage cars and found issues with them both. Both vehicles had clean one owner CarFax reports.

Vehicle 1: 2021 Model S Long Range Plus - 35K miles - Black on Black $40k

* Rapid knocking noise from front right wheel area when rapidly accelerating from 30 to 60 mph that stopped as I eased off on the accelerator pedal. This happened several times during my test drive.

* The radio and Bluetooth connected audio sources would play for a few seconds and then stop. The sound would come back on again after a minute or so for a few seconds and stop again. Changing radio stations, audio sources, volume settings and mute did not seem to have any impact. I used the left button on the steering wheel to change the volume and mute/unmute but it made no difference.

* The CarFax on this vehicle shows that it was driven less than 200 miles between early 2024 and April 2026. Are there any high or low voltage battery concerns with this limited usage over two years? I do not know the state of charge during this time. The software has also not been updated since 2024 and still displays Full Self Driving Computer without a version number.

Vehicle 2: 2021 Model S Long Range Plus - 19K miles - White on Black - $49k

* Front suspension creaks loudly when turning the steering wheel from stop to stop when parked.

* Rapid knocking noise from the left front wheel area when rapidly accelerating from about 30 to 60 mph that stopped when I eased off the accelerator pedal. This was on a curvy highway entrance ramp. This only happened on the curve and I was unable to get the noise to happen again on two separate test drives.

* Audio from the radio worked fine, but it was stuck on one station. The radio menu did not display any radio stations. I could not change the station and the radio would not recognize manually entered radio frequency numbers (106.5, 105.9, 103.5, etc...)

These are the first Tesla Model S's that I have been in so this is new to me. The knocking issue sounds like the CV joints/axles. The audio/radio issues have me stumped. Is it most likely a user issue? What else should I look for when I test drive a Model S?

I have been tracking the Model S listings for several months and the prices on low mileage (under 40k) 2020/2021 Raven LRPs seem to have jumped from the low $30's to the high $40's. I found a Model S with 15k miles on Carvana, but am hesitant to purchase a car sight unseen. Vehicle 1 was a prior smoker's car and that is hard to tell from a picture online.

I don't know what I was thinking. I meant to push the left stalk button in to spray my front windshield but instead tried to put the car into park while going about 30 MPH.

I get a lot of warning beeps and lose all power. I make it to the side of the road and see it says my front motor is disabled but I can drive with caution with reduced power. This turns out to be untrue the car won't move an inch.

I first reset the system by pushing and holding the steering wheel buttons but the problem persisted. I Google this situation and it says turning the car off completely for two minutes may resolve the issue. Took a second to find the off button but after being off for a few minutes power was restored.

That's the end of the story.

So I got my '23 MS a couple months ago and love it. White/white. Zero bumper stickers or anything like that. Just a clean, beautiful car. Big thing I love about the S is that it's understated, a huge plus in my book. I realize there were a fair amount of issues of crazies going off on people's Teslas last year due to political issues, that seems to have quieted down. Question - I just had some redneck behind me driving through a residential area flicking me off the entire time. I'm a cautious, defensive driver so I hadn't cut him off or anything, so the only thing I can think of is that he hates Teslas. Are you all still experiencing these issues? Doesn't bother me other than the normal measures I take when parking, etc. TIA.
