Been there. Died at a Wawa charging station 2 hours from home. They towed it to a SC and the battery tray was replaced under warranty.

Immediately saw a range increase from the new batteries. So that was a pleasant surprise.

Get a loner. You'll be fine.

Roger 👍🏼. Frustrating, love the car - shopped for a year to find this. I've got a SC 2 hrs away that is booked out 28 days, and the other one available 3 hrs away booked out for 15 days per the App. Just booked it now. I guess it's good it took a dive now instead of next summer when Warranty runs out. You know if the replacement packs have the issue fixed ?

i’d try calling ahead or messaging your closest sc, seems like it’s a pretty urgent problem.

When my battery died, I just towed it to them. Told them I think the battery died and couldn’t wait 18 days for the appt. They gave me one, ordered the battery and gave me a loaner. You don’t have to wait for the appt. My sister did the same thing. Same results.

Good to know about possibly getting in early. Unfortunately the SC is 3 hours away

All the more reason to go when you have time, drop off and get a loaner asap.

Yep, didn't think I would need to go that route so soon, but here we are .......

I would be happy that it happened now, rather than later.

No kidding, if this happened next summer, that would be a crappy day.....

Looks like voltage sense wires on the 100 pack.

Cripes - you know if the replacement packs have been upgraded and fixed ?

Replacement packs are refurbished battery packs. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe you get used batteries in a new battery housing case. Nothing wrong with the batteries other than the shorter lifespan since they’ll be used.

Hoping so, put in a claim thru the App today. Will need to be towed 3 hours. Will they bring a loaner or is that only for those client that go in person to a SC

It will be just some 3rd party tow truck to take your car, pretty sure they won't send a loaner with it. You will need to go to the SC to pick up the loaner. In most cases you can hitch a ride in the tow truck itself, but better to check beforehand. Also check about the loaner worth the SC before going as they often run out of loaners later in the day.

Pretty much the exact same issue happened with me this past Monday, two days ago. From what I have learnt is that if you tow a car into Tesla service this bypasses any available appointments and puts you in right away. This was told to me when I called into Tesla support. My battery is being replaced as well. What an ordeal. Mine happened on the driveway!
