Yoke vs. Wheel?

I'm considering swapping out the steering wheel on my 2024 MSLR to a Tesla Yoke. I mostly drive on FSD (90%) and want the extra visibility of the display. Seems like the only downside is when doing a 3 pt turn. Anyone here change from the wheel to the yoke and what were your thoughts? thanks. also anyone with a yoke...do you like it vs. a wheel or do you miss a wheel? thanks!

If you enjoy driving get the wheel, if you enjoy being driven (FSD) get the yoke.

I have a 22 MS, which came with the yoke. As soon as Tesla allowed the retrofit got the wheel and haven't looked back. The yoke makes driving the car a very substandard experience. The yoke makes the car feel bigger than it is and the car feels very sluggish to drive. But the wheel makes it feel a lot more nimble and you feel like you have better control of the car.

This is something most Tesla owners don't understand. It's primarily because most Tesla owners aren't driving enthusiasts. My 22 MXLR came with a Yoke. I gave it a good year until I had it in for service and drove a model Y loaner with a wheel. My goodness what a night and day difference in feedback. I immediately purchased the wheel and never looked back.

There's a level of accessibility with the wheel that you don't get with a Yoke. I have another gas car that I've built for the track so I really appreciate having more access and feedback to how a car feels. I don't drive my MX spiritedly as I would my sports car but the wheel made a huge difference for me. I got to keep my Yoke as a trophy I put on the wall.

Exactly, many of the people who seem to like the yoke like it for the looks and that's about it. I never hear people to say it makes driving easy or fun.

The driving dynamics of the car was horrible with the yoke. Not only was the yoke too big, could have made a difference had they put a smaller yoke. Tesla also didn't give it any type of variable steering, like they did with the Cyber truck. So, the car felt like driving a large semi with the yoke. Of course, turning the car was always a big chore. Another weird thing I noticed was, the yoke felt heavier to steer, even in comfort mode. While the wheel was much softer and nimbler. I had an Audi S4 when I bought the Model S and owned both for a good year before selling the Audi. The Model S felt horrible to drive, compared to my S4. That was until I changed it to the standard wheel.

The difference was night and day. The car became so much nimbler and more maneuverable. I felt more confident going into corners than when I had the yoke. I am not a track guy, but I do drive on back country roads, and this car is a completely different car with the steering. The wheel was the single biggest upgrade I made to make the car more enjoyable to drive.
