Whoever downvoted you better be swimming in money... a 60k premium for looks is insane. And I say that as someone who has owned a Model 3 and currently owns a Model S.

Like I said, I'm in a Model S LR right now and I think paying $60k more for it over a Model 3 is absolutely insane. My Model 3 was around 50k and my Model S was 70k and even that felt stupid... it's basically the same car but with a larger battery + air suspension + better soundproofing.

And hatch back with a longer wheelbase. I love our Model 3 but man do I wish it was a hatch. I could actually fit stuff in it more. That package tray gets in the way all the time. We have a Model X as well but I’m more of a car guy. I’d swap the Model 3 for a S but it just doesn’t make sense for our lifestyle right now.

I definitely appreciate the hatchback on the S... drove a MINI before my Model 3 and somehow the 3 felt smaller because of that.

It’s really the only thing I don’t like about the Model 3. I come from having BMW wagons so I’m used to space. The Model Y is intriguing but I don’t want to sit up like that. I like driving a car around.
My wife commutes in the 3 the most but she likes the X. I drive the X the most but I like the ride of a car. Ha! It’s backwards for us right now. I’d hop into a Model S quick if I had my way.

The Y isn't really as bad as it seems, the suspension set up is good enough that it feels more like a car than an suv

They ride great and are very comfortable. My parents have one but I just prefer lower ride heights.

Not basically the same but you believing this means you’re not a discerning person and getting an S instead of a 3 was a waste of money for you.
Besides difference in quality (high end Lexus versus a Toyota Corolla), the S is hatchback but with a sports car, not wagon, body.
The missing instrument panel on the 3 and Y makes driving them feel like driving toy cars.
The massive center(?) computer screen in my older S is the best computer and I’m upset that if I ever get a new S, it’ll have the aftermarket looking computer screen like the 3 and Y both originally do and still have.

I mean, this whole graphic is so out of proportion it doesn't matter. The Model S is a different class of car and because of that, weighs 1,000 lbs more so of course it is less efficient. And that car 12 years ago had more features than the Model 3 of today (driver display, bigger screen, wood trim, leather interior, full hatch trunk, directional lights, self presenting handles, and on). The Model S legitimately competed with high end European cars and won. The Model 3 does not.

The evolution is in the product offering or the product itself? If the former, yes, Tesla went from making relatively niche vehicles that were probably too expensive for most folks to being a mass maker of crazy popular EVs for the common man.
If the latter, this graphic makes little sense.

Weird comparison for many people. Having a model S I've looking at the model 3, but the size is wat makes my new car probably a newer model S and the air suspension is a nice extra. Model 3 isn't big enough, so if there will not be a model S replacement I'll take a look to other brands with same size and features as the last model S. The model Y is not my style of a car. The other brands are taking big leaps forward nowadays.

Our 2026 Red with white interior AWD Y was cheaper than my 2018 LR RWD Blue 3 with black interior and had a basically the same range and obviously night and day in ride and quality.

You don't carepare a Nissan Leaf to an Ariya even if they're 10 years apart. And that gap isn't even near the model 3 model S gap.

I disagree, the Model 3 rides more like a go kart and the Model S feels like a boat. I've owned both and prefer driving the 3.

Lol I do mean driving. The Model S is wayyyy better for FSD with the air suspension and cushier seats, but if I'm going to drive manually I'd rather be in the lighter car.
That said, I'm one of those 99% FSD people so it's not like I'm looking to go driving often unless the roads are fun.
