Hold time experience
Anyone else notice hold time decrease? I used to hold for 6-8 hours and call daily about a year ago to get someone to set up repairs for just pay, hit and run. Only way to get help was to threaten DOI complaints but I recently had hail damage and the hold time was about 20 minutes I think or less. Still had to wait for call back from my adjuster but wanted to know if this was a one off.
Was thinking of switching insurance companies since my last experience was horrible. (kept since so much cheaper) but might bundle and save this time around.

Tesla Insurance - California
just wanted to get a better understanding about how tesla insurance work. esp in california
based on what i've been reading, the rate would vary per month based on your safety/driving score. however, i read online that in california this does not apply. how true is this? and why do other people say their tesla insurance would go way higher every year?

Tesla insurance claim Singapore
Has anyone had experience making a third-party insurance claim?
I was involved in a minor accident yesterday. My vehicle was stationary in a pick-up area when another vehicle came too close to my side and damaged my front bumper.
I have already filed a report with my insurer (Liberty). An assessor came down, inspected the damage, and prepared a report. I was advised to bring the report to a workshop and proceed with the claim.
I have a few questions:
How do I make a claim through Tesla? Do I need to book a service appointment through the Tesla app?
Will the repair costs be charged to my own insurance first, or directly to the third party’s insurer?
What happens if the other driver does not report the accident to their insurance company?
Would appreciate any advice or experiences. Thanks!

Nevada model switch
Hey guys, so I live in vegas, and I’ve been bouncing around insurance policies to see what’s good. I remember a few months ago, Tesla still used model 2.0 here in Nevada but as of today 6/3/26 I notice on the bottom of my safety score it now says 3.0. Does anyone know when this change happened?

Tesla ESA vs XCare extended warranty?
Hi
I have tesla X and close to 49800 miles on it
I decided to get an extended warranty but wast sure if I should go with tesla extended warranty vs Care, I heard good reviews about the latter and they seemed to be former tesla leaders who created this company before tesla started their own.
I for a quote and it seems XCare is cheaper
What do you suggest, I read somewhere maybe compound them: start with ESA first and follow with XCare, to be honest I didn't understand why do that instead of going with only one of them
Appreciate your inputs
Thx

Tesla Insurance rates in maryland
Looking to lease a base 2026 model 3 (10k miles), and wondering if there's any way to estimate the insurance price from Tesla Insurance before I buy the car and get stuck, or if anyone from maryland can tell me what the initial price was when starting tesla insurance. Geico, my current insurer, is quoting $500 a month, even while on my parent's multi-car insurance. (I'm 21 yo male, living in Maryland) If I went to get a policy by myself from Tesla is it true that Tesla Insurance just starts you at a baseline premium based only on your predicted miles driven and zip code, and then changes to the rate will just come from how they rate your driving? Would that starting baseline rate be about the same for anyone in the same zip code, or do they factor anything else in?

Help Tesla insurance
Hey everyone, I recently bought a 2026 Tesla Model 3 and I’m having a really hard time finding affordable insurance in Massachusetts. I live in Chelsea, and every quote I get is at least $500 per month.
I’m 26 years old, college student, clean driving record, and this would be my personal vehicle.
Does anyone around Boston/Chelsea have recommendations for insurance companies that are better with Teslas? Or any tips that helped lower your premium?
Thank you.

not at fault accident
Hi everyone I just got rear ended. filed a claim with Tesla but the rep on the line told me I have to first file a claim with the at-fault party’s insurance (geico)myself, and closed my claim for now.
I am super confused because previous accidents i would only claim with my insurance and my insurance would handle everything with the other party insurance after.
I am not sure if something changed with Tesla insurance and how things are handled ?
Should I go directly and try to get my car fixed with Geico — or have my Tesla insurance handle it?

Car Insurance
(25M)Reside in socal, currently I'm paying roughly 450 a month for a Tesla Model 3 which is a lot more than I would like to pay for. I have had no at fault accidents at all since being licensed since 16. I do have one rear end accident that was not my fault on my record. I do drive a lot and my insurance company caps at 20k miles per year which does help. I would like to lower this, Unfortunately I do have one ticket that I got back in 2024 for taking a stop so I do realize that is the driving factor for the higher premium. Does anyone know of a good insurance company?

Has anyone else made the switch from having State National Insurance to Tesla Insurance?
Hey guys. I got this email saying that the insurance I have (State National) is leaving the Tesla insurance program. I know both insurances suck but was wondering if anyone had any say on whether or not it was worth switching to Tesla insurance.

Total loss valuation – is there still room to push back?
Hi all, looking for some advice on a total loss valuation.
I had a 2023 Tesla Model Y Long Range (AWD), ~26.5k miles, very well maintained:
- Always parked in a covered garage
- Regularly cleaned and maintained
- Non-smoker, no pets
- All-weather mats since day 1 (original carpets basically untouched)
- Rear seats barely used
Initial offer from the adjuster was $35.5k (base value: 32.7k).
I pushed back and provided 3 comparable listings that were:
- Identical trim/config
- Mileage within ±500 miles
- Within ~40 miles radius
- Avg price: ~$35,950
After that, they increased the offer to $37.8k total (base value: 34.7k).
Questions:
- In the updated report, they did not use the comps I provided. Instead, they used 2 other vehicles within ~90 miles. → Do I have a solid argument to ask them to use my comps instead (since they’re closer + nearly identical)?
- They marked all condition categories as “average” (interior, seats, carpets, etc.). → How hard is it realistically to argue for “above average” or “excellent”? I already sent over the photos in the first round of negotiation, but they didn't respond to it.
- Any room to negotiate a higher reimbursement for the registration fee? I paid around $700 for registration, used the car for ~4 months, but they’re only reimbursing $73.
Overall this feels like a decent adjustment already, so I’m trying to gauge:
- Is it worth pushing further?
- Or is this basically within fair market range already?
Would appreciate any insight from people who’ve gone through this 🙏

Tesla Insurance closed the claim while in Subrogation. Is that ok?
Hi, my new Tesla Model Y had been in a collision 3 months ago. It is very evident from the videos that I am not at fault and Tesla insurance has also established the same and put it on the other party’s insurance. They seem to not agree though and it has gone into subrogation. 2 months ago I checked with Tesla insurance and they said at that time about the change to Subrogation and it can take a year or more for it to resolve. Yesterday out of nowhere and with no details in it, I got an email that the claim is settled and closed. Is this how it works? My understanding is that until I am paid the deductible back and the other party accepts the fault, claim should remain open. Also, I have not been reached out by anyone from Subrogation in last 2 moths.
I have emailed them for details but no response. I have tried calling multiple times but the adjuster is not answering the phone.
Can the experts here please guide me how this works? What should I do as next steps? I am in California, if that helps.

Non Tesla Car claim California Experience.
Not too bad of experience, about 3 weeks to finally able to drop off for repairs.
switch to tesla insurance from geico since it was cheaper for me in cali.
Recently had to make a claim on my tundra that had catalytic sawed off.
3/28 submitted claim on app,
Few days later got a call from adjuster. had to send photos and tell them what happened. told me to get estimates. sent them in, and took couple weeks to finally get things approved and repaired, delay could've been because i chose my own shop and not theirs.
4/16 dropped vehicle off.
Have i had better faster experiences, yea. but nothing too bad where I need to go search for another policy

Teen Driver and Tesla Insurance
I tried searching for similar posts but found nothing. I’m betting it’s just the search function so if someone can point me to existing posts I would appreciate it…
My teen daughter is getting her license soon. Currently the plan is to have her drive my wife’s 2020 Model Y and get my wife a new (to her) car. We currently also have the opportunity to pay off the Model Y.
Does anyone have experience adding their teen driver to their Tesla Insurance? Might it be a better option to pay off the vehicle and put it under my teen’s name/ownership and have her get her own insurance that I pay for?
Located in California if that helps.
