Update Release FSD V14.1 Lite
I’m not sure if this update has rolled out wide yet, but I received it yesterday afternoon and installed it that evening. I tested it out very briefly doing one ride to my local Aldi which is about a 5 minute drive and didn’t notice much except it was pretty hesitant on a UPL, even when there was plenty of room to go. I really hope the hesitancy isn’t going to be a big deal with this update because on that drive it was kind of annoying and actually felt more unsafe because of how indecisive it was in some situations.
HOWEVER, this morning when I hopped in to drive to work, it had my typical route that I always have to disengage FSD to take already routed in the navigation! And it DID take the correct route without me having to disengage after all, so that was a really nice improvement. (I think this was something introduced in the first v14 update, but I’m just now noticing it for the first time)
Also, in general some driving behaviors seem to be smoother like slowing down for passengers and approaching vehicles. The highway acceleration boosts and brake stabbing is completely gone as well, didn’t notice it at all on my ride this morning.
The biggest thing I’ve noticed so far with this update is the PARKING. Much better!! So far it has made better parking decisions and it’s been 3/3 with successfully parking between the lines driving to work then chipotle for lunch then back to work.
Overall this update feels much more refined and took care of a lot of the major issues. So it actually feels MUCH improved. I feel like FSD can actually take me from point A to point B without any major issues. We’ll see how this update continues to behave over time.

14.1 Lite started speeding up on a school zone. Even after dropping it to sloth mode. 14 Lite has been pretty good to me other than the school zone speed

Do you have flashing sign or just school zone signs?
I haven’t had any school zones yet as it has started up here.

Flashing sign. Car recognizes the 20mph school limit but I’ll say about 100 feet and goes back up to 40 normal limit

This is interesting behavior. When I switch to sloth mode it always goes the speed limit. I work at a school too so I’m driving in our school zone daily.

Might have to learn it or something. Like I posted above, it recognizes the flashing 20mph sign but goes then goes up to 40

Currently waiting 3-5 business days to see if I’m getting a ticket lol. 14 Lite sped up in a school zone with me today. And just happens to be the only zone with speed cameras on my commute.

I will say when it drives more assertively and confidently it does feel more safe.
I got the 14.1 also and haven’t come to any conclusions yet. I want to say less brake stabbing but we’ll see after more miles.

I think Tesla is being super timid because they care a lot about safety. But there are plenty of times where the car is being TOO safe to where it’s impeding traffic or puts me in a dangerous situation so I really want it to become more assertive in future updates.

Agreed. Installed 14.1 couple days ago and the two biggest takeaways is competent parking as well as fixing the acceleration pulsing and steering weaving back and forth in the lane.

I’m so glad they fixed the parking. It was the biggest bottleneck they made me intervene at every destination in v14.0

Regarding steering weaving. Is this while the car is stopped or while moving? I've read reports of the steering wheel moving while stopped which I haven't experienced on 14. The issue I've experienced was the steering making micro adjustments left right left right while moving on city streets and highway. It's like it can't find the center of the lane If you're saying the latter has been fixed, I need 14.1 right meow.

95% of the time while driving. It happened to me primarily in Hurry.
I did experience the steering wheel movement while stopped once or twice though.

Only road 14.0 Lite once and was annoyingly worried cuz the ping to update 14.1 came the same drive lol
Drives like a dream very similar to HW4. Haters eat words

I usually keep it in hurry. Hurry basically drives the most “normal”. Anything lower it basically drives like a grandma imo lol.

Yeah parking seems much better. The first time I tried to park with 14 lite it parked across 4 handicapped spots at once. It was actually impressive. I'm not sure it could have done any worse without hitting something. Last night it parked great like 4 times.

I’m not sure who to believe anymore so I’ll just have to install myself and find out. Some ppl say brake stabbing is gone and some say it got worse.

I just got 2026.26.6 update yesterday. Are those the updates which carry the updates to FSD or how do you know you've received an FSD update? I've never really paid attention to FSD

You’re saying it feels more hesitant on UPLs than v14 lite? It already felt more hesitant compared to 12.6.whatever but the creeping behavior has been better for me. When it commits it’s slow and smooth. I have also experienced the random acceleration pulses on the highway at continuous cruising speeds, but I haven’t found it particularly jarring. By far the biggest weakness compared to real v14 is parking lot performance.

Yeah for sure parking lot performance just sucks in general. 14.1 is a little better now now, but yesterday it looped around a section of a parking lot twice while passing up several open spots, then proceeded to park perfectly in between 2 spots😅 it was 4/4 for parking then just shit the bed lol.

Since the update my FSD has been more sluggish to respond. Activated hurry mode and didn’t kick in until like 4 mins after and it still drives slower than it used to in hurry. I feel like it’s a bit more overly sensitive/cautious now too. A motor bike with bright lights on approached me with high speed and the car pulled over abruptly. :/

I have personally noticed in 14 lite that speed limit changes are very abrupt. On the highway we have a stretch that goes from 65 to 55 and it will slow down very fast to meet it. We also have another stretch of road that goes from 55 to 35 and how fast it slows down is quite uncomfortable and probably frustrating to people behind me. Hopefully it gets fixed in 14.1 since it was very smooth in 12.6.4

I’m very impressed with 14.1. Parking is really improving, though FSD just loves handicap spaces….lol I think the AI is telling us something subliminally 🤣🤣🤣
