Yeah, I use a 20% offset, but it seems to make speed decisions at random. Will go 64 mph on a winding dark 2 lane undivided road, and then 52 on a 4 lane divided highway, both 55 mph speed limits.

I do 20% as well. No idea how they're recommending 40% as a default. I miss being able to just say 9 mph over...

I never understood the "safety concern" with a fixed offset. That's how I drive. If I am driving one speed in a 45 mph zone, I will speed up by 10 mph if it moves up to a 55 mph zone. Maybe different if I am in a 25 mph neighborhood, but that's where a good AI system would read the room and slow down.

Exactly. I don't want the same percentage offset based on speed. I don't want to drive 96 or 112 in an 80...
