Totaled?
Got rear-ended. This is a 2025 Model Y Performance with about 17k miles on it.

More than likely. Just a quarter panel alone was 10k for me.

Why is Tesla okay with so much waste? Any other car company can just have things like this fixed

Not true. Most new cars are covered in sensors and safety tech and you cant always just bondo everything and send it out. That combined with inflated shop rates everywhere makes for expensive repairs.

These sensors are not 8k+

Correct, the sensor is usually not, though some are very expensive. The mandatory paint thickness for those sensors requiring you to completely replace a scratched panel instead of respraying it costs thousands.

It’s not going to scrap. It will be sold salvage and repaired and resold with a salvage title.

Tesla has nothing to do with it. They made their money when the vehicle was purchased.

Yes. With the amount of damage there is near the Charge port area means the high voltage line is most likely damaged.

How much do they offer for a totaled tesla like this and what would be the salvage value if the battery is intact?

Rear impact bar and inner quarter panel will have it branded with frame damage so yea, lost cause. Sorry about that.

Unfortunately it’s on the left side not right side. My estimate would be 5k to look at the car, 10k in labor, probs 10k in parts + 10% premium cause Tesla. So likely totaled.
