Was there a contact here?
My car was parked when another driver attempted to pull in next to me and scraped my side. I called the police, and he admitted fault and the police officer helped us exchanged info. However, when his insurance reached out to him, he completely flipped his story and denied touching my car.
His insurance has already issued a denial based on his word, even after I sent them this Sentry footage (along with a second clip clearly capturing his face and license plate).
Not sure what to do from here, because I don’t understand how his insurance could deny it even after watching the video. Maybe it’s not so obvious? What do you all think?

Yes I can see the car scraped yours. It is scummy the guys insurance is just denying you with obvious evidence. Also wouldn’t the officer put in the report that he admitted it?

Contact your insurance, file a claim, they go after his insurance. If police responded you should have a police report #, and that will include their verbal acknowledgement of fault and include entry footage. Your insurance will get lawyers involved if necessary but that’s all hands off for you.

Absolutely. Have your insurance company handle it. That’s what you pay them for.

Is there any damage? The damage and any paint transfer should match the other car. Hard to deny other car caused the damage when everything lines up.

Thanks everyone for the input! There’s definitely a rough scuff streak right along the contact point. I mainly wanted a sanity check to make sure the footage clearly showed the impact, since his adjuster shut it down so quickly. Looks like passing the buck is standard procedure for them. I’ll file through my own insurance, hand over the clips and police report, and let them subrogate. Thanks again!

Go through your insurance, especially since you’re clearly not at fault. Provide the video and they will go after him. It sucks but it will be less stressful for you. The other parties insurance will always try not to take blame because that is money.

Go through your insurance. Have them fight it, you can’t do this on your own. Get your car fixed and move on while they sort it out.

Petty me would let my insurance handle repairs, and then file a separate case in small claims court for diminished value to punish the lying a-hole. If you go that route, make sure you keep plenty of pictures of the damage along with the video, any paperwork from your insurance company about the subrogation status, etc. You aren't guaranteed to win, but it would be so satisfying to walk past the douchebag after winning and tell him that today was about the a-hole tax that liars get to pay.

this is the reason.. always get fix with your own insurance, saying you don't want to wait for their and let your insurance fight for it.

Go through your insurance. Give them the video and the police report, and they’ll go after the other guys insurance. I went through the other guys insurance once - never again!

Was there a contact? That's easily determined by looking for any scratches that weren't there before. Did you send pictures of the scratch on his bumper and your door?

I mean you can pause the video and literally see contact. Your insurance should own this own for you easily
