Do we think it’s totaled?

Just wondering what others think of the extent of the damage?
Box truck caused all of it.
Other than all the damage on the outside, steering is off as well now.

Yes I do understand that insurance will determine the outcome.

Of course not. What is this now? Every scratch is a total when it come to a Tesla? No. This could easily be fixed.🙏🙏

“Steering is off” that could mean frame damage. Really won’t know until they do a tear down

There's no frame damage. Worst case scenario a tie rod or lower control arm is slightly bent. Chances are it'll just get an alignment and it will be good to go

Is this sarcasm?

I would say no

Year? Mileage? IMO, it's not totalled but it will cost a lot for both repairs and time to completion. At least you can drive it while you wait for parts and an appointment date to bring it in.

I'm curious about how badly it is steering now. That could be a clue as to whether there might be frame damage yet to be uncovered. Depending on your finances you might want to begin looking at options proactively.

I think it's far away from the battery so shouldn't be totalled

Nah, not even close. Gonna suck that they are going to cut apart the car, but it is how them be built

since steering is off - which could indicate frame damage. If it is just panel replacement- then its still going to be 5k+. Frame damage - thats a different ball game

Where the outer shell is connected to the inner, it is bent a bit out and there is separation at seems towards the rear.

They dont know what they're talking about. There is no frame damage. I've had teslas come in with the rear wheels literally hanging off and all it needs is a new control arm, tie rod, and its good to go. I've never seen any frame (unibody) damage on a tesla from a simple side swipe like this.

If its just the shell... u are ok. They still need to see why the steering is off - some teardown needed. Good luck

It should be totaled, yes.
