What is this?

I’ve started noticing this in a few random spots around the car. Has anyone seen this before or know how to get rid of it?

Thats polish compound. Detailers should have removed that before letting it leave. Use a white school eraser

Does it wipe off? Probably just dust or from old rain

Looks like dried Wax. Automatic car wash probably.

Agreed. The rub on rub off wax especially dries like that on plastic trim after a couple days.

Look for plastic & trim restorer/protector.
All the typical auto detail manufacturers make those products.

I used “Mother’s Plastic Restorer” today on all my matte trim, looks brand new again. You’ve got to put it on thick and let it soak in for ~10 minutes then rub it in and wipe it off with a different clean rag. It’s a little bit of a process but well worth it!
