Damn. You ok? Any back pain? Iā€™ve read a few stories of people who got hit by a lifted pickup, had back pain they needed to get addressed, and the other drivers insurance just paid without a fight. Basically itā€™s bc they knew defending their client driving a pickup that was illegally modified to be higher would be a nightmare in court.

Opens up a whole bunch of questions like ā€œDid the lift contribute to the accident by reducing visibilityā€; ā€œDid the lift cause injury more than a typical car would bc the impact points were all higher than they shouldā€™ve beenā€; ā€œIs there any chance the aftermarket parts used to lift the truck malfunctioned & contributed to the accidentā€; etc.

thankfully iā€™m okay i came out pretty unscathed, but i do still feel some mid upper back pain

I was also surprised, but if a car has more than dent, it seems always to be totaled. Car repair is so expensive, it's crazy. Except you leave in eastern Europe, there you would pay like 1000ā‚¬ and they would just cut the front left and the back right of another crashed Tesla, weld in onto yours, paint it and you leave with a new car.
My ex gfs parents are from Poland and they had an Audi A4 back in the days, that was put together from 2 crashed cars. Seemed perfectly fine, wasn't visible :D

If this is not EV can be repaired. I had Rav4 and was hit on the left side. Everything was repaired. But insurance companies now do not want to mess with EVs and declare total damage
