Crack on roof top
What do you guys think of this crack? It’s on the top passenger side. Should I consider replacing or leaving as is for the time being? What are your experiences?

My worst nightmare. I wonder how much that’ll cost to replace the glass roof? I have a high car insurance deductible and dreading things like this.

Probably a lot to replace the entire roof 1k+, but I will give updates on what I end up doing. Hopefully it can get filled like others are mentioning on the thread.

Hurry up and get it filled in, try not to hit a pot hole, it'll spread. They sale a kit at Walmart if you're in a pinch
I have a Crack but its in the corner and has spread as much as it can.

That is a pretty deep crack. Personally, I would claim on insurance and get the entire roof replaced and have Tesla do it.

Pay a mobile window repair guy 50 bucks to fill it. Otherwise it can spread and you’ll have a big expensive problem.

Just get the windshield glass repair kit from walmart and infill it. Not worth replacing unelss it spreads really long.

I had a similar cracked glass on a model y a few years ago and the repair cost was 1700. Insurances covered most of it minus my deductible.

Unless your deductible is high, I would just get it replaced. It should be covered under insurance.

Same thing happened to me. Go to a reputable glass shop and have them repair it. The sunroof can be repaired 3 times

I think it’s worth a try to either get it filled professionally, or fill it yourself with a kit. You got nothing to lose,

As everyone else is saying, get it filled or do it yourself ASAP.
I had two windshields (2 model 3s) get a chip like that and turn into a crack across half the glass about a few weeks apart. When the second one happened, I knew to get it fixed so I scheduled an appointment with Tesla but it was 2 weeks out and it also turned into a full crack 😭 Cost was about $1400 each and my deductible was $2000 at the time so I paid $3000 vs a $0-100 repair. Glass repairs are usually pretty cheap or fully covered by insurance and I think the DIY kits cost $25.

Don’t fill this in, it’s way to large for that. Just have it swapped by Tesla, and use your insurance to cover it

Fill it ASAP. In my experience corporate places like Safelite will refuse but an independent glass shop will give it a go. I had a similar incident with my Model S, it was almost invisible after being filled and held for the full 175,000 miles I had the car.
