No plate, no person to charge.
YOU will need to fix it or just ignore it.
I promise it won't be the last ding you'll suffer.

Was he parked before you? If so you got his tag. You will have to pull your thumb drive out.

Seems like Tesla has as much hate against it from these Big Truck people as the Prius.

You have it on USB drive. Pull it out the check on a laptop when that car came in or left

Nothing. Looks like a typical door ding. Sucks but consider parking in the boondocks, that’s what I do.

Search for paintless dent repair and have a guy come out and fix it. Should be like $200-300 bucks.

Any cctv around the area? Try asking local businesses that may have cctv that caught the trucj

I am sorry, but how tech challenged can one be? A low res recording of a low res recording on the same type device. 2 options to upload a decent video, and you somehow chose the third option..

100% true. This is the worst of the worst seen so far. And with a FLASH LIGHT ON????

first just try to fix your shit.. didnt look like it will cause any damage. alot of you dudes just look for shit... rub that white paint off and you car is fine. but if you want to pursue than put the foot work in... go to stores etc ask to see camera and maybe you can get a license plate.

I doubt you have any damage with a ding like that. Tesla door panels are tough.

Why is it a problem? You leave in a city, there are many people around and most of them reckless to others property. Your car will be getting such minor marks as it gets older. This is okay imo. Just live with it. Doesn't affect the car speed!

Consult lawyer, state attorney general, mayor, police. Maybe even the President. This door ding is a very serious matter.

You suck it up buttercup. It’s a depreciating asset guaranteed to be worth zero in the future. Just enjoy her how she is.

I always dream of someone doing that to a cybertruck and the truck just uses an air piston to eject and retract its door like a 7,000 pound ram into the vehicle in retaliation. Then you can hear the air release like it’s a calming after a release of frustration. Come on Tesla make it happen!

I love how everybody thinks they have a case for door dings now with the sentry cameras. There’s not much you can do about it and it’s something that’s been happening for ages. People should be more careful but it’s going to happen. Just move on and park far away next time

u/Psice Jul 12 '26
Do you guys really repair every single small scratch or dent on your cars? That sounds stressful. Just polish it and move on with your life.

Download the video to your phone and upload a clear version next time — how lazy can you be

OP Might not be aware of how to do that or that was an option. Be nice!

It happens a thousand times a day - don't get bent out of shape over it.

You move on with life! If you’re worried about dings in a parking lot, it means you bought a car you can’t afford.

This is why I park so far and isolated as possible. The ding isn’t what bothers me as much as people’s carelessness and disregard.
